Miss Lorraine Graham, daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. James Gra
ham, and Brynn Lloyd Mosley, son
of Mrs. Eugenia Mosley, were
united in marriage Saturday, De
cember 11, in a 2:00 p.m. cere
mony at Rockfish F.W.B. Church.
Rev. Robert Douglas performed
the ceremony, and music was
provided by Russell McAllister and
Mrs. Gloria McLaughlin.
Escorted by her father, the bride
wore a white satin gown trimmed in
Venice lace and matching veil
designed by her mother. She
carried a bouquet of roses and
babies' breath.
Serving as matron of honor was
Mrs. Gwendolyn Anderson. She
wore a red gown and cape with a
white hat and carried red and white
mums.
Bridesmaids were Annie F. Bur
ney, Patricia Campbell, Alice F.
McNair, all of Raetord; and Helen
Gilchrist and Renee Murphy, both
of Fayetteville. They wore red
gowns with white capes and white
hats and carried white mums.
Flower girls were Tammy Gra
ham and Carmelita Haley. They
wore red gowns with capes trimmed
in lace.
The mothers wore red and white
gowns.
Nathaniel Miller of Fayetteville
served as best man. Ushers were

. lumn, all of Raeford; and Issac
McNeill, Willie Melvin, and Wil
liam Mosley, all of Fayetteville.
Ring bearer was Darrick Gra
' ham.
The reception, catered by Guy
Morris, was held in the Fellowship
Hall of the church immediately
following the ceremony.
A graduate of Hoke County and
North Carolina Central University,
the bride is employed as an Adult
Basic Education Instructor by
Sandhills Community College.
The bridegroom is a Civil Service
employee in the Aviation Safety
Branch located at Simmons Army
Air Field in Fort Bragg.
The couple will make their home
in Fayetteville.
McDiormid - Maxey
4 Miss Suzanne Maxey and James
McDiarmid, Jr., were united in
marriage on December 12 in Maroi
Hill Presbyterian Church, Dun
edin, New Zeland.
Mr. McDiarmid is the son of
Mrs. James McDiarmid of Rose
mont, Pa., and the late Mr.
McDiarmid. He is the grandson of
the late Mr. and Mrs. G.W.
Williamson of Raeford.
They will make their home in
Dunedin, New Zeland, where Mr.
McDiarmid is a teacher and Mrs.
McDiarmid is in medical school.

Bridal Shower
For Miss Barnes
Miss Jane Barnes, bride-elect,
was honored at a bridal shower on
Wednesday evening, December 8,
at the home of Mrs. Brown
Hendrix, Jr. Hostesses with Mrs.
Hendrix were Mrs. Lynn Dees and
Mrs. Donald King of Henderson.
Mrs. John MacDonald assisted in
serving.
The refreshment table was dec
orated with an arrangement of pink
flowers and gold hurricane lamps
with pink burning tapers.
Miss Barnes was presented a
pink corsage and an appliance gift
from the hostesses.
Miss Barnes, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Julian Barnes, and Jeffrey
Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carson
Davis, Jr., will be married January
29 at Galatia Presbyterian Church.
Christmas Meeting
For Junior
Woman's Club
The Junior Woman's Club held
their December meeting Monday
evening at the home of Mrs. Allen
Edwards with the Conservation
Department serving as hostess.
Refreshments were served when
members arrived. After a short
Christmas program, gifts were
exchanged.
Miss Lona Graham will spend
Christmas in Faison with her sister,
Mrs. Dee Newton, and family.

Mrs. George Ashley entertained
members of her bridge club and
four visitors. Mrs. Larry Ingram,
Mrs. Ronnie Branch, Mrs. Gene
Carter, and Mrs. Bill Senter of
Fayetteville, with a salad buffet on
Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
After bridge was played, gifts
were exchanged and prizes were
awarded to Mrs. Julian King, club
high, Mrs. Senter, visitor high, and
Mrs. Gib Bernhardt, consolation.

Charlotte announce the birth of a
daughter. Tanya Jo. on December
9 at Presbyterian Hospital in
Charlotte. Mrs. Branch is the
former Terry Fennewald of Rae
ford.
Ivey - Upchurch
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ivey
announce the engagement of their
daughter. Sharon Lynn, to David
Tut tie Upchurch. son of Mr. and
Mrs. Clyde Emmett Upchurch. Jr.
Miss Ivey is a graduate of Hoke
County High School and attended
Louisburg College. She is employed
by the Hoke County Health De
partment.
Mr. Upchurch is a graduate of
N.C. State University with a BS
degree in Civil Engineering. He is
employed by Koonce. Noble, and
Associates. Inc. in Lumberton.
An April wedding is planned.

Is Honored
Miss Jane Barnes, bride-elect of
Jeff Davis, was honored recently
with a miscellaneous bridal shower
at the Rockfish Fellowship Build
ing. Hostesses were Mrs. Donald
Wood, Mrs. Marie Fowler, Mrs.
Louise Sanders, Mrs. Homer Terry
and Mrs. Paul Heath.
Upon arrival, Miss Barnes was
presented a white corsage with
kitchen ornaments. After opening
the gifts, refreshments were served
from a table, which was spread
with a yellow cloth and centered
with a fall arrangement of flowers
and candles. Punch, cake, nuts and
mints were served to 35 guests.
Out of town guests were Mrs.
Ann Hammond of Virginia and
Mrs. John Haywood of Troy, both
aunts of Miss Barnes.
Hostetlers Hold
Open House
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hostetler
held an Open House at their home
on Elwood Avenue Saturday eve
ning, December 18. Approximately
one hundred fifty guests dropped in
between the hours of 8 and 10 p.m.
Decorations, handmade by Mrs.
Hostetler, were used throughout
the house with the colors of green
and red velvet. The entire house
was lit by candlelight.
Oysters on the half shell were
opened on the porch, where the
Christmas tree stood. Refresh
ments were served throughout all
rooms of the house.
Out of town guests were Mr. and
Mrs. Stephen Thompson of Clarks
ville; Mr. and Mrs. Hector Mc
Lean. Mr. and Mrs. John W.
Campbell, and Mr. and Mrs. Scott
Shepherd of Lumberton; Dr. and
Mrs. Hugh McArn, Mr. and Mrs.
Johnny McLean, and Mr. and Mrs.
Tom John of Laurinburg; Dr. and
Mrs. Jim Ebert of Pembroke; Mr.
and Mrs. Frank Blue. Mr. and
