A June wedding is planned. Bridge Mrs. Branch Mrs. Ronnie Branch entertained members of her bridge club on Thursday evening of last week. Snacks, coffee, and cokes were served while bridge was at play. Mrs. Julian Wright was high scorer for the evening, and Mrs. Clyde Knox received the consola tion award. Birthdays Dianne Smith Diunnc Lynn Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Smith. Jr.. celebrated her seventh birthday Friday with a party at her home. Clifton Blue, prominent newsman and writer of the column, "People and Issues", was the speaker for the Public Affairs Dept. of the Raeford Woman's Club at their February meeting held at the home of Miss Isabel McFadyen. Mrs. Alfred K. Leach, program chairman, introduced the speaker, who made an informative talk on the legislature, giving highlights from the history of theN.C. House, as well as thoughts and news on his present work. During the social hour, a sweet course with coffee was served by the hostess and co-hostesses, Mrs. Graham Clark and Miss Sarah Lytch. In the business session Mrs. Graham Clark, chairman, presid ed. Details of the work and projects of the Department were discussed and plans made. Education Dept The Education Dept. of the Raeford Woman's Club met Tues day. February 1 . at the home of Mrs. Neill McFadyen, with Mrs. J.H. Austin serving as co-hostess. Mrs. Austin, vice-chairman, pre sided. Welcomed as a new member to the department was Mrs. Robert (Jean) McPhail. Guest speaker for the program was Richard Alligood. court juve nile counselor for Hoke County. Mr. Alligood presented a most interesting and informative pro gram concerning juveniles and their effect upon the community.
