Miss Dianne Ray, bride - elect,
was honored on several occasions
last week. Miss Ray, daughter of
Mr and Mrs. Marshall Gillis Ray of
Route 4, Fayetteville, and William
Robert Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs.
William Arthur Miller of Fay
etteville, will be married March 6 at
Galatia Presbyterian Church.
Miss Ray was honored with a
surprise shower, given by Mrs.
Raymond Parks and Mrs. Haskell
Cowan, at Mrs. Cowan's home on
Player Avenue.
The table was spread with a linen
cloth, centered with a red and white
Valentine arrangement, flanked
with pink tapers.
Bridal squares, nuts, cheese
biscuits, strawberry candy and
punch were served to the guest.
On Friday February 18, from
7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Miss Ray was
honored with a floating mis
cellaneous shower at Galatia
Presbyterian Church.

Newton, Mrs. Malcolm Gillis, Jr..

The refreshment table was
covered with a white linen cloth
adorned with an arrangement of
mixed spring flowers, flanked by
silver candlesticks holding white
tapers.
Bridal cake, nuts, and punch
were served to the fifty - five guests.
Guests included Mrs. Marshall
Gillis Ray, mother of the bride -
elect, and Mrs. William Arthur
Miller, mother of the prospective
bridegroom.
Miss Ray was honored with a
luncheon on Saturday, February
19. at the home of Mrs. John D.
Gillis in the Galatia Community.
Mrs. George D. Hall was
co-hostess.
Upon arrival, the bride ? elect
was presented a corsage.
The bride's table was covered
with a white linen cloth and
centered with an arrangement of
yellow mums and jonquils. Small
tables were centered with miniature
vases of yellow jonquils. Places
were laid for twelve guests.
A three course luncheon was
served.
Miss Ray was presented a gift of
china by the hostesses.
Miss Ray was entertained with a
Tupperware Party on February 21
by Mrs. Douglas Gillis at her home
on Route 4, Fayetteville.
After games were enjoyed the
hostess served cake squares, nuts,
sandwiches, cheese dip, and Cokes
to the guests.
Miss Ray was presented with her
choice of Tupperware gifts.

Institute of Government in Chapel
Hill this week.
Lt. Paul Currie of Shemya, Alaska,
and Bridget Kavanagh of Boston.
Mass. will be leaving Wednesday
after spending several days with his
parents. Mr. and Mrs. David Scott
Currie. They all were at Peace
College in Raleigh for the weekend
to see Linda Currie who preformed
in a water ballet.

and son. Stephen, spent the
weekend in Forest City with his

The bride is a graduate of Hoke
High School and the University of
North Carolina at Wilmington. She
is employed by Country Vogue in
Wilmington. The bridegroom is a
graduate of New Hanover High
School and is a student at U.N. C.
Wilmington. He is employed by
Aereonautics, Inc. in Wilmington.

At 12:30 on Friday, Miss
McDougald was the honored guest
at a bridesmaids' luncheon given by
her maternal aunts, Mrs. T.C.
Covington of Latta, S.C. and Mrs.
Robert L. Cox, at the home of Mrs.
Richard Coker in Raeford.

mington, the bridegroom-elect's
mother.
PRE REHEARSAL DINNER
1 He wedding party and out of
town guests dined at the Grecian
Gate Restaurant in Fayetteville on
Friday at 6:00 p.m. Hosting the
occasion were Mrs. Dorothy Wil
liamson, Mrs. Ruth Scull, both of
Fayetteville. and Wade McDougald
of Raeford.
Miss McDougald received red
roses, and Mr. Kelly, a rose
boutonniere. Pink and white spring :
flowers decorated the table, which
was laid for 25 guests.
POST- REHEARSAL PARTY
Miss Judith Ann McDougald
and Timothy Kenan Kelly were
honored Friday evening at a post
rehearsal party at the St. James Inn
in Fayetteville, given by the bride
groom's mother, Mrs. Lillian M.
Powell of Wilmington.
