Truck Load Overturns A driver escaped injury Thursday morning when a trailer loaded with one thousand gallons of liquid nitrogen overturned on U.S. 401 nine miles south of the city. According to Highway Patrol trooper K.w. Weston, the 11:40 a.m. mishap occurred when a wheel came off the trailer being pulled by a pickup. The Patrol reported a car - truck collision May 16 in which no injuries were reported and total property damage was put at $2,100. According to troopers, an auto being driven by Henry L. Edwards, 19, of Rt. 1, Box 187, Raeford, was heading north on U.S. 401 eight miles north of the city when it crossed the center line on a curve and sideswiped a tractor trailer heading south. The vehicle then ran off the left side of the road. Operator of the truck was identified as Artice H. Perkins. 26, of Rt. 1, Parkton. Edwards was ticketed for driving left of center. Established as a non-profit or ganization governed by a citizens' board, the Hoke Council became one of more than 75 arts councils in North Carolina whose aim is not only the development of community arts programs, but also the total development of art in all forms-vi sual, literary and performing in the county.
