With Shower
Miss Debbie Wood, June bride
elect, was honored with a bridal
shower Thursday. May 26th at the
Evangelical Methodist Fellowship
building. Hostesses were Miss Lib
Webb and Mrs. Norma Dooley.
Miss Wood was presented a
corsage of white carnations upon
her arrival.
Thirty-one guests enjoyed a
number of bridal games, after
which Miss Wood opened her gifts.
The refreshment table was cen
tered with arrangements of spring
. flowers and candles. A pastel color
theme was used for the shower.
Cake squares, nuts, mints, sand
wiches, and punch were served to
the guests.
Attending from out of town was
Mrs. Thomas Wood, the bride
elect's mother, of Fayetteville.

elect, was honored with a miscel
laneous shower Monday evening
" given by Miss Ellen Currie at the
home of Mrs. Jerry Goza.
Refreshments were served from
the dining table, which was cen
tered with an arrangement of pink
roses, babies' breath, and shasta
daisies. Punch was poured by Mrs.
Wayne Harmon, sister of the
bride-elect.
Miss Pratt received a gift of linen
from the hostess.
Piano Recital
Given By Students
Of Jane Davis
Students of Jane Davis presented
their spring piano recital Tuesday
evening, May 31. Each student
performed first as a member of a
quartet or trio, and then played two
solos, one of which was his own
? composition. Awards for outstand
ing achievement were presented to
Vianne Howard. Vicki Terry, and
Venus McLaurin.
After the recital, students and
? their guests were served refresh
ments.

Allen McVicker. son of Mrs.

An August 20th wedding is
planned. Miss Shiver is presently
attending Fayetteville Technical
Institute. Mr. McVicker is present
ly employed at Kelly Springfield.

Thursday evening with a dinner
party at the home of Mrs. Richard
Coker. Visitor was Mrs. David
Russell.
High Score prize was won by
Mrs. Charles Clark; second high by
Mrs. Martin Webb. The Bingo
award was won by Mrs. William T.
Niven.
Mrs Morris
Mrs. Sam Morris was hostess to
members of her bridge club and
visitors. Miss Alma Ferguson and
Mrs. Charlie Morrison, on Tuesday
evening of last week.
A dessert course and coffee were
served when guests arrived.
Miss Ellen Currie was high
scorer for the club, and Mrs.
Morrison, visitor high.

Mrs. David S. Currie, Jr. enter
tained members of her bridge club
and four visitors, Mrs. Ransom
Baucom, Mrs. Paul Burnett, Mrs.
Harold Gillis, and Mrs. Luke
McNeill on Tuesday evening of last
week.
Dessert was served when guests
arrived. Candy, nuts, and Cokes
were served during play.
Mrs. Burnett won the high scorer
award and Mrs. Berder Niven,
consolation. Mrs. McNeill received
the bingo prize.
Mrs. O.B. Maxwell has returned
home after visiting with Mr. and
Mrs. Hal Gore in Chipley, Fla., for
the past few weeks.

On Tuesday evening. May 17,
Miss Judy Daniels was honored
with a miscellaneous floating show
er at the Ashley Heights Baptist
Church, hosted by the Young Adult
Sunday School Class.
Cake squares, nuts, mints, and
punch were served to the guests.
Mr. and Mrs. John Leandro
entertained Miss Judy Daniels and
Leland Strother with a spaghetti
supper at their home on Birch
Circle Friday evening, May 27.
Tables which were covered with red
checked cloths were placed in the
dining and living rooms. Place
cards marked the places for the
twenty-one guests.
The hosts presented the bridal
couple with a gift of crystal in their
casual pattern.
Twenty-four guests enjoyed a
cookout Saturday evening. May 28,
hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Alfred K.
Leach at their cabin retreat honor
ing Miss Judy Daniels and Leland
Strother. A blue denim and red
bandana motif was used on the
tables in the cabin and on the lawn.
The honored couple was presented
a set of steak knives by the hosts.
Miss Daniels and Mr. Strother
will be married June 12, at the
Antioch Presbyterian Church.

were Sunday guests of his sister,

miscellaneous shower on Thursday
evening. May 2b. at the home of
Mrs. Billy Currie. Hostesses for the
occasion were Mrs. Billy Currie.
Mrs. Eddie Currie, and Mrs.
Raymond Hawkins.
The dining table was centered
with an arrangement of pink and
white spring flowers flanked by two
pink candles. Cake squares, nuts,
mints, miniature sandwiches, and
punch were served to the many

A July 24 wedding is planned in

at the North Myrtle Beach Hilton.

week from a month's trip to the
western part of the United States.
While in Washington they visited
with Mr. Shankle's sister.
