Social Reporter, 875-4171 Miss Bounds, Mr. Huggins Exchange Vows On Saturday Miss Susan Denise Bounds became the bride of Douglas t Randall Huggins on August 6th at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Raeford. Miss Bounds is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.D. Bounds, Jr. of Raeford. Mr. Huggins is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Huggins, Sr. of Tabor City. The Reverend Billy C. Beaver officiated the double ring cere mony. A program of wedding music was presented by Mrs. Glenn Langdon, and Charles Hottel was the tenor soloist and sang "More", "Be cause", and "The Lord's Prayer". The church was decorated with greenery of palms, large baskets of white mums, gladioli, and brass candelabra. The bride was given in marriage fcy her father. She wore a full length gown of nylon organza over taffeta with domestic reembroidered alencon lace. The bodice was empire waisted reembroidered with Momestic alencon lace, appliques throughout the bodice and shoul ders, with an opened scalloped neckline. The sleeves were bishop sleeves with cuffs of lace and seeded pearls. The skirt was A-lined with large lace appliques on the front skirt panel completely edged with domestic lace ruffle extending into a chapel length train. The head piece was a Juliet cap covered with domestic alencon lace and seeded pearls. The face was framed with lace extending into a fingertip veil completely edged in alencon lace. The bride carried a cascade of stephanotis and greenery centered with a white orchid. Kathy Bounds of Raleigh, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Cammy Bounds of Raeford, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. They wore mint green knit halter dresses with an organza tloral cape. They carried yellow and white daisies. * Other bridesmaids were Mrs. William McNeill, 11 and Miss Terrie Tucker of Raeford; Mrs. Edmund Huggins. sister - in - law <Jf the bridegroom; Miss Marie Henderix of Raleigh; Mrs. David Keaton of Sunset Beach; and Miss Faye Joplin of Hudson. They wore the same style dresses in yellow. I They carried yellow daisies and nosegays of babies' breath. In their hair they wore daisies and babies' breath. Mr. Huggins was his son's best man. Ushers were Dennis Huggins of Tabor City; and Edmund Huggins of Raleigh, brothers of the bridegroom; George McFadyen of Raeford; Mike Craig, Lee Myers, and Bill Harwood of Charlotte; and Nathan Kelly of Raleigh. The bride's mother wore a formal length blue gow n of Chiffon over taffeta with long flowing chiffon sleeves. The bridegroom's mother wore a peach formal length gown of chiffon over taffeta with matching chiffon cape. Both mothers wore white orchids with a yellow throat. After a wedding trip to Florida, the couple will be at home in Tabor City. Mrs. Huggins is a graduate of Hoke High School, attended two years at Appalachian State University. and is now attending Pembroke State University major ing in Special Education. He is a former employee with Southern National Bank of Raeford and now holds a position with Waccamaw Bank and Trust Company of Tabor City. Reception Immediately following the wed ding a reception was given by the bridegroom's parents in jthe Fellowship Hall of the church. The tables were covered with lace cloths and beautifully decorated with yellow roses, white daisies, and white tapers. Mrs. Basil White and Mrs. William Cameron served punch. The wedding cake was served by Mrs. Betty Gail Gore and Mrs. Charles Hostetler. Others serving were Mrs. Marvin Ed wards. Mrs. Henry L. Foster, Mrs. Sherrie J. Thompson, Mrs. Ned Bridge Mrs Pecora Mrs. John Pecora was hostess to her bridge club and visitor, Mrs. John Harris on Thursday evening. Dessert was served when guests arrived. Iced tea, chips and candy was served during the evening. Mrs. Charles Clark, charter member of the club, who is moving to Morehead City was given a sterling silver medallion from the club members. High score prize was won by Mrs. William T. Niven; second high, by Mrs. Gene Carter, and bingo, by Mrs. Clark. Minshew, Mrs. Franklin Crumpler, and Mrs. Ed Hart. The hostesses presented the bride - elect with a crystal cream and sugar set. Post-Rehearsal Dinner Following the rehearsal a dinner was given for the wedding party and friends at Scotch Meadows Country Club in Laurinburg. The bodice was trimmed in beaded Venetian lace and match ing lace circled the skirt. A three-tiered fingertip illusion veil added to the total look of elegance. A cascade of white roses, stephano tis, and babies' breath was carried by the bride. Miss Janice Matthews was maid of honor and Miss Joyce Matthews was junior maid of honor. Both wore formal gowns of apricot chiffon designed with peplum and a bow of chiffon at the waist. They carried bouquets of daisies, apricot carnations, and babies' breath with apricot streamers. Co-hostess was Mrs. T.C. Jones. The bride - elect and her mother were presented corsages of carna tions upon their arrival. The hostesses presented the honoree with a gift of china.
