Beat Raiders 64-58 Bucks Stage Strong Comeback The Hoke County Bucks de feated the Richmond County Raiders in a non ? conference game this week 64 - 58 to end the early part of the season with a record of 4 - 1. Playing aggressively on defense and scoring from long range, the Raiders tested the Bucks early as they took command of the game the first two quarters and went in at the half leading 29 ? 37. S collected 21 of his 27 points in the first half as the Bucks seemed unable to contain him or get the offense going. But the third period proved that the Bucks were ready for a come back. Picking up the tempo with aggressive defensive play and strong inside play, the Bucks outscored the Raiders 17 to 7, to take a 2 - point lead into the fourth quarter. Mark Wood picked up Stubbs and kept him in check for the thiid and fourth quarters as he only scored six points in the second half. Dennis Purcell paced the Bucks scoring with 18 points, followed by Andre Cobb with 12 points, Harokl Thompson with 11 points, Calvin Blue with eight points, Mark Wood with six points, Nathan McNeill with five points, and Leonard Everette and Alwertha Galberth with two points each. The Bucks' next opponent will be the Lee County Yellow Jackets at Sanfbrd on Tuesday, Jan. 3, as they begin conference play in the tough Southeastern 4- A. On Jan. 6, the Bucks will meet the Raiders again here on their home court. Tne Bucks will also play at home on Jan. 10, when they face Lumberton. Men 's Basketball Western Auto Leads The Hoke County Parks and Recreation Commission's Men's Basketball League got underway last Monday with two games. In the opening game, the All-Stars out - scored Carpenter's 76'ers 22 - 10 in the fourth period to post a 64 - 56 win. The All-Stars trailed the entire game until a last period burst sent them ahead. George Maynor had 17 points to pace the All-Stars. James Rainev had 12 points to lead the 76'ers. All-Stars 10-16-16-22-64. Carp. 76'ers 14-18-14-10-56. The course is designed to provide the beginner and real estate prac titioner with a basic knowledge of real estate. It includes the funda mentals of real estate, brokerage, financing, appraising, real prop erty law. real estate math, con struction. and mechanics of clos ing. Successful completion of this course is acceptable by the North Carolina Real Estate Licensing Board in lieu of the "six months experience" requirements.
