Mrs. Steve Phillips, Social Reporter, 875-4171 MissToney Is Married To Mr. Cole Miss Linda Leigh Toney became the bride of Paul Jeffrey Cole at First Baptist Church in Southern Pines at two in the afternoon, June the third, nineteen hundred and seventy-eight. The Reverend John D. Stone officiated at the double-ring cere mony. The Scripture, I Corinthians 13, was read by the Reverend Gary Hudson . The prenuptial music was pro vided by Mrs. Joe N. Sinclair, Jr., organist, and Miss Kelley Stone, pianist. Selections included "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" - J. S. Bach; "Toccata in D Minor" - Eberlin; "St. Anthony Chorale" - Brahms; and "Sheep May Safely Graze" - J. S. Bach. "The Bridal Chorus from Lohengren" by Wagner was chosen as the processional and "Psalm 19 - The Heavens Declare the Glory of God" by Marcello as the reces sional. Mrs. Nancy Hudson, solo sang "The Gift of Love"; "The Wedding Song" and "The Wed ding Prayer". Miss Toney is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William P. Toney of Southern Pines. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Dana H. Yeatts of Altavista, Virginia; Mr. John P. Harwood of Richmond, Virginia; and the late Mr. Robert M. loney. Mr. Cole is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul I. Cole of Aberdeen and the grandson of Mrs. Ruby Roller of Laurinburg. The bride, given in marriage by her father and mother, wore a princess style gown of silk organza over tatTeta, adorned by Alencon and Venice lace. The dress featured a lace-trimmed yoke edged by bias ruffles and an attached tubular train. Her finger-tip veil fell from a Camelot cap of laces. She carried a bouquet of Faberge' roses, daisies, gypsophila, stephanotis, and Fleur d'amour. The bride's sister, Jacqueline Toney, was maid of honor. Brides maids were Miss Kathleen Sellers of Southern Pines; Miss Lorraine Cole, sister of the bridegroom, of Aberdeen; Miss Ramona Jones of Micro; and Miss Catherine Toney of Richmond, Virginia. Their gowns were princess style green silk organza with a Bertha collar, ruffle ?kemline. and a pick-up bustle. ^R'hey wore baby's breath in their hair and carried bouquets of roses, daisies, and baby's breath. Best man was Paul I. Cole, father of the bridegroom. Grooms men were Phillip Cole and Richard Cole, brothers of the bridegroom; Edward Bauer, brother-in-law of the bridegroom; and William P. Toney, Jr., brother of the bride, of Richmond, Virginia. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Toney chose a floor-length gown in peach crepe, and wore a Faberge' rose corsage. The bride groom's mother wore a formal dress of vellow crepe and a corsage Mrs. Paul Jeffrey Cole of Minuet roses. The grandmothers of the bride, Mrs. Harwood and Mrs. Yeatts. wore dresses in shades of pink. Mrs. Roller, the bride groom's grandmother wore blue. They wore cymbidium orchid cor sages. Immediately following the cere mony, a reception was held in the church hall. Miss Anne Toney, of Richmond, Virginia, assisted with the guest book, and Miss Kelley Stone was at the piano. Mrs. Robert M. Toney, Jr., of Rich mond. Virginia; Mrs. Winfred N. Yeatts, of Long Island, Virginia; and Mrs. Ed Bauer, of Aberdeen, poured punch. Mrs. Novell Royal and Mrs. W. Kenneth Stroud served the wedding cake after the bride and groom cut the traditional first slice. For her going away outfit, the bride chose a pink crepe dress and wore a cymbidium orchid corsage. After a honeymoon trip to the mountains of North Carolina, the couple will be at home in Southern Pines. Rehearsal Dinner On Friday night, following the wedding rehearsal, the bride groom's parents hosted a dinner at Ashley Heights Baptist Church in Aberdeen. The couple's families, wedding attendants, and out-of town guests attended. Parties A miscellaneous shower honor ing the bride was given by the Women of the Ashley Heights Baptist Church on May 15. A cookout honoring the bride and groom was given by Mr. and Mrs. W. Kenneth Stroud at their home on May 19. On June 2, a bridal luncheon honoring the bridemaids was host ed by Mrs. John P. Harwood, grandmother of the bride. The luncheon was held at the Mid-Pines Club in Southern Pines. Out-of town guest included: Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Toney, Jr., Misses Anne, Catherine, and Julie Toney. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pajaczkowski, Mr. Mike Pajaczkowski, and Miss Louise Pajaczkowski, of Rich mond. Virginia; Mr. and Mrs. Dana H. Yeatts of Altavista, Virginia; Mr. and Mrs. Winfred N. Yeatts, Miss Jeanne Yeatts, Mr. Patrick Yeatts of Long Island. Virginia; Mr. and Mrs. Ron Wil liams, Misses Gini and Lori Wil liams of Hendersonville; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Jordan, Scott and Noel Wilkinson of Raleigh; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bowman, and Miss Denise Bowman of Asheville. C. G-3 Sessoms-McRae Couple United In Home Ceremony Saturday Miss Margaret McRae Johnson and Timothy Wayne Sessoms were united in marriage on Saturday. June 3. Miss Johnson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Garnette Tabor Johnson of Parkton. Mr. Sessoms is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Sessoms, Jr. of RFD Raeford. The one o'clock ceremony was performed at the home of the bride with only close family members present. The Reverend Lester Sessoms. Jr.. brother of the bride groom. of Calvary Methodist Church. Fayetteville. officiated at the double ring ceremony. Lester Sessoms. Sr. served as best man. and Ms. Julie Shaw of Parkton was maid of honor. A small reception followed after which the couple left for a short wedding trip. They will be at home in Parkton after June 15. Mrs. Sessoms attended Parkton Schools, graduated from RCDS in Red Springs. She is a senior Biology major at PSU and is employed at The Family Health Clinic in Lumberton. Mr. Sessoms graduated from Hoke County High School in Raeford. He attended Berklee School of Music, Boston, Mass., and FT1 in Fayetteville. Bridge Mrs King Mrs. Julian King was hostess to members of her bridge club and visitors, Mrs. Robert Calhoun and Mrs. Ronnie Branch, on Tuesday evening of last week. Homemade ice cream and brownies were served between progressions and snacks and punch during play. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Jerry Jordan, club high, to Mrs. Calhoun, visitor high, to Mrs. Hank Richards, second high, and to Mrs. George Ashley, consola tion. Personols Mrs. Chalmers Davis and daugh ter, Deborah, and Martha Lahr of Lexington have recently returned from visiting with Sgt. and Mrs. Jesse Kelly in San Antonio, Texas. Mrs. Timothy Wayne Sessoms Open House Honors Couples An Open House honoring Don Williamson and Miss Kim Jordan, Skip Autry and Miss Pandy Jackson was held on Saturday evening, June 3, at the home of Mrs. H.A. Cameron. Hostesses were Mrs. Cameron, Mrs. Marie Brown. Miss Evelyn Brown, Mrs. Jim Weaver, and Mrs. Hubert Cameron.' Personals Mrs. Winborne Gautreaux and son of Louisiana are visiting with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Hnurpll lr Refreshments' were served from the dining room table, which was centered with a candelabra holding an arrangement of pink roses. Pink rose buds were also used through out the dining room. Punch and other refreshments were also served on the porch. Mrs. Raz Autry and Mrs. R.M. Jordan served punch. The hostesses presented gifts of crystal to the honorees.
