In District Court Man Sentenced On Traffic Charges * A Fayetteville man received a four - year suspended sentence and was fined S500 after pleading guilty Thursday to charges of falling to stop at the scene of an accident, driving under the influence (DUI), second offense, driving with a revoked license, driving while under the influence of marijuana and driving 100 plus m.p.h. in a 55 m.p.h. zone, driving in excess of 15 m.p.h. over the speed limit and evading a law officer. Judge Joseph E. Dupree was presiding. Ricky Leon Cooper, Fayetteville, was sentenced to two terms of two years, suspended and placed on probation for two terms of five years each on the charges. He was fined $500 and court costs were remitted for good cause shown . He was ordered not to drive for five years, and alcoholic and drug treatment were recom mended. He was ordered to tour a prison unit with his probation officer and to pay $150 restitution for damage to the Raeford Plumb ing and Heating truck. William Edward Jones, Fayette |rille, pleaded guilty to a charge of ?DUI. Breathalyzer reading was .16 percent. A charge of speeding 65 in a 55 m.p.h. zone was dismissed. He was sentenced to 90 days, sus pended for 12 months upon payment of a $150 fine and costs. Limited driving privileges were granted. Cleo McDuffte, P.O. Box 525, Raeford, pleaded not guilty to a charge of DUI. He was found guilty of the lesser included offense of careless and reckless driving 'after drinking. A $150 fine was imposed and he was ordered to pay costs. Dennis McMillian, Aberdeen, pleaded guilty to charges of DUI and careless and reckless driving. He was sentenced to 90 days, suspended for 12 months upon payment of a $150 fine and costs. He was ordered to surrender his license, and limited driving privi leges were granted. The defendant gave notice of appeal. He also pleaded guilty to a charge of injury to real property. He was sentenced to six months, suspended for three years upon payment of a $50 fine and costs and $25 restitution for the prosecuting witness and costs. The defendant was ordered not to go on the property of or molest prosecuting witness for three years. James Fairley Bell, Shannon, was found not guilty of a charge of DUI, third offense. Breathalyzer Reading was .17 percent.
