Multiple Traffic
Charges Bring Active Sentence
a spring Lake man was given an
active sentence in Friday's session
of district court after pleading
guilty to charges of driving while
license revoked, driving under the
influence, (DUI) second offense
and reckless driving.
Jud$e Joseph E. Dupree was
presiding when William Earl Bur
ton, Spring Lake, pleaded guilty to
the charges. He was sentenced to
not less than nine nor more than 18
months and was given credit for 21
days of pre ? trial confinement.
Breathalyzer reading was .18 per
cent.
Mark Edward Hansen. Ft.
Bragg, pleaded not guilty to a
charge of DUI. He was found guilty
of careless and reckless driving and
was ordered to pay a S300 fine and
costs. The defendant's motions to
quash charges of carrying a con
cealed weapon and DUI were
granted.
Wilbert Hunt, Lumberton.
pleaded guilty to a charge of DUI.
Breathalyzer reading was .18 per
cent. He was sentenced to 90 days,
suspended for 12 months upon
payment of a $175 fine and costs.
He was ordered not to drive for 12
months except as set out in the
limited driving privilege order. A
charge of carrying a bottle with
broken seal in the passenger section
of the car was dismissed.
Ernest Lee McPhaul, Fayette
ville, pleaded guilty to a charge of
DUI. He was sentenced to six
months, suspended for five years
upon payment of a $500 fine and
costs. He was ordered not to drive
until properly licensed. Breatha
lyzer reading was .27 percent.
Walter Clarence Parks, lib S.
Wright St., Raeford, pleaded guilty
to a charge of DUI. Breathalyzer
reading was .12 percent. He was
sentenced to 90 days, suspended for
12 months upon payment of a $150
fine and costs. He was ordered to
surrender his license, and limited
driving privileges were granted.
Harold Thomas Mclntyre. Rt. I
Box 421 , Raeford, pleaded guilty to
charges of DUI. and communicat
ing threats. Breathalyzer reading
was .31 percent. He was sentenced
to six months, suspended for 12
months upon payment of a $200
fine and costs. He was ordered not
to drive for 1 2 months except as set
out in the limited driving privileges
order.
Michael Dwayne Mallard. Eller
bc. pleaded guilty to careless and
. reckless driving after drinking. A
charge of DUI was dismissed. He
was sentenced to 60 days, suspend
ed upon payment of a $75 fine and
costs. Breathalyzer reading was .09
percent.
Rebecca Bosxell Deyton. Fay
etteville. pleaded guilty to DUI and
driving while license revoked. She
was sentenced to not less than 12
nor more than 18 months. Sentence
was suspended for three years upon
payment of a $400 fine and costs.
She was ordered not to drive until
properly licensed. Breathalyzer
reading was .21 percent.

charges of assault on an officer,
driving with revoked license, an
failing to stop for blue light and
siren. He was sentenced to not less
than nine nor more than 15

a charge of larceny. He was
sentenced to not less than 12 nor
more than two years. Sentence was
