In Wrestling Campbell Wins Third Division IV Title Thomas Campbell of Hoke County High School won his third Division IV 4-A wrestling cham pionship Thursday night and stayed undefeated in the process. He pinned Dwisht Thomas of Richmond Senior High School in 2:39 in the match for the cham pionship of the 185 - pound class of the division meet at Bowman High School near Wadesboro. It was his 14th victory of the season. Campbell won the 185 - pound and placed fourth for the state championships last year, and won the 167 - pound division crown in 1977, his sophomore year at Hoke. In the 1777 ? 78 season, Campbell won 38 and lost only two matches and was given honorable mention on the All State team. He also won honors in football last season playing as a defensive tackle. He was named to the All Southeastern Conference team and was given honorable mention in The News & Observer's Class 4-A All East squad. He is 17, a senior, and the son of James and Myrtle McCormick. Lee County High School won the division wrestling title in the Bowman meet, with a score of 187Vi points. Richmond was second with 139, Lumberton third A.A. Hoke Girls, Richmond Boys Win Hoke Varsities Split Richmond Senior High School's boys' varsity defeated Hoke Hiph's b8-54, the Hoke girls downed Richmond's 44-41. and the Rich mond boys' Junior Varsity edged the Hoke Juniors 53-52 January 30 in the Hoke gym. The results left Hoke's boys, with 5-3 Division IV 4-A Conference and 14-5 over-all season records. The victory gave the Hoke girls a conference mark of 4-4 and an all-around record of 11-5. Frank Stubbs led Richmond's varsity boys' offensive with 23 points, and teammate Anthony Everette sank 20. Harold Thompson scored 23 and Andre Cobb 16 for Hoke. Thomp son and Stubbs shared the game's individual high-scoring honors. Richmond led 27-22 at the half. In the girls' game, Sharon McMillan of Hoke led the winners with 16, and Terry Fountain was Richmond's best scorer, tallying 20. the game's highest. In the JV game.
