r" First Of Annual Events 96 Compete In Kiwanis Golf Tournament Ninety-six golfers competed last ? weekend in seven flights in the Raeford Kiwanis Club's First An ; nual Golf Tournament. It was played on the Arabia Golf Cub , course. The proceeds from the S25 entry fee for each player were donated to the club's Scholarship fund and other charities. Kiwanis Club President William Wood said the response was very ^ good and the club was pleased with the results. The pictures show Wood and fellow Raeford Kiwanian Bill Lan caster presenting the trophies to the . two members of each of the ' winning and runnerup teams of each flight. Wood appears in all the ? photos showing three men, and Lancaster and Wood are presenting trophies in separate pictures to the members of the runnerup trophy in the fifth flight to Jerry Long. Long's partner was Gene Webb. Not shown also are sixth flight's winning team of Berryhill and McHail, and the seventh flight's runnerup team of Sessoms and Snipes. It was a Captain's Choice style tournment. Each two-man team qualified on Saturday for place ment in a flight on Sunday. The team low-ball score made on both days was combined to make the final team score. Trophies and prizes also were given to the golfer hitting balls closest to the pins on the par-three holes.
