In District Court Probable Cause Hearing Is Waived The following cases were heard and judgments were issued Friday in Hoke County District Court. Robert Wayne Damewood, 31 Koonce Drive, Raeford waived probable <(ause hearing a charge of lewd and lascivious act with child. Rangerettes In Cystic Fibrosis Event Four girls of Rangerettes Group 1404 raised S168 February 8 in the State Skate for Cystic Fibrosis. They are Stacy Foster, Sonja Wilson, Amy English, and Maxine Blackburn. Miss Blackburn won an AM-FM radio for placing third, and all the girls received T-shirts for participating. The event lasted for three hours. Levon Sanders, Rt. 3, Raeford, bastardy, two counts, prayer for judgment continued upon payment of costs; costs remitted. Thaddeus E. Barnes, son of Charles and Helen Barnes of 1916 Tylertown Loop, Raeford, is par ticipating in exercise "Team Spirit 81" in Korea. He is a crew member aboard the tank landing ship USS Cayuga, homeported in San Diego. "Team Spirit 81" is a joint training exercise involving military forces of the U.S. and Republic of Korea. More than 160,000 per sonnel are involved in the month - long exercise which includes various naval training maneuvers and a major amphibious landing. The Cayuga is 522 feet long, carries a crew of 223, and ac commodate more than 350 Marines for amphibious operations. A graduate of Hoke County High School, he joined the Navy in July 1978.
