What's on the horizon for Ex
tension?
The winter months offer farmers
the opportunity to take some time
from the daily chores of planting, ,
plowing, spraying and harvesting
crops to study and plan for future
crops.
The Hoke County Extension staff
plans to help all farmers be
prepared to make those decisions
that will maximize the return to
capital, labor and management.
This can be done through the use
of individual visits and consul
tations with farmers and farm
families, meetings, seminars and
short courses.
Listed below are programs that
are planned to better equip farmers
for the upcoming year. All local
programs will be at the county
agricultural extension office in
Raeford.
January 14,6:30 p.m. ?? Farmers
Club Meeting.
January 22, 10 a.m. -- Working
with computers, 3:30-8:30 p.m. - t
Executive Farmer Short Course.
February 11, 6:30 p.m. ??
Marketing Workshop.
February 24, 7 p.m. -- Tobacco
Meeting.
Other dates and programs that
you should make note of are:
January 15 -- N.C. State Soybean
Association Meeting, Royal Villa,
Raleigh.
February 19 - 20 -- Young
Farmers Forum, Holiday Inn-Four
Seasons, Greensboro.
January 13 - 14 -- N.C. Turfgrass
Conference, Royal Villa, Raleigh.
Should you have questions about
any of these dates or events please
call me at 875-3461 or come by the
Agricultural Extension Office on S.
Magnolia Street in Raeford.
