The Superintendant an nounced that the parts needed for the heating system had been or dered and hoped to have heating system in running order this week. Mrs. J.F. Williford is home after spending a week in Southeastern General Hospital and is getting along very well. Miss Wanda Ammons had the misfortune of falling down stair steps last Friday night and broke her ankle. She is in Cape Fear Valley Hospital. Mrs. Mildred Shaw has been a patient in Womack Hospital for the past ten days, and is being flown to Walter Reed Hospital for further tests Sunday, January 17th. Spending last week with Mr. and Mrs. Marsh Daniel was her mother, Mrs. L.C. Smith of Win ston-Salem. Charles D. Hopkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Almon C. Hopkins has been promoted in the Army to Staff Sergeant. Hopkins is assigned at Fort Bragg with the 82nd Airborne Division. His wife, Debra, is the daughter of Ambrose J. Haney of Fayetteville. The community extends sym pathy to Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Schell in the death of her brother. J. Bernice Deaton, who died Wed nesday and was buried in Guilford Memorial Gardens, Greensboro, on Saturday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Colon Ammons visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kemp Watts, in Clarkton Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John E. Sumner and daughter, Selina of Fayetteville spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs. S.E.
