Arthur Winstead, minister of the church, is to increase the understanding of church members of the total mis sion program of the church. Three outstanding persons who have involved themselves in mis sions will hold events in the church on Saturday and Sunday: Julia Williams, presently the chairman of the North Carolina Conference Board of Missions, has made numerous trips to Bolivia with work teams from the North Carolina Conference. She will meet with the United Methodist Women at 11 a.m. Saturday. January 30. and with the youth of the church at 2 p.m. Mrs. Helen Barnes, a retired missionary who spent several years in Japan, will speak to the Pearl S. Cole Sunday School Class at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, January 31. Dr. Alan Whanger. who has spent several years in the volunteers in Missions Program, serving in South America and Jamaica, will speak to the adult classes at 9:45 a.m. Sunday and will fill the pulpit at the 11 a.m. worship service. The club has been beneficial to the community in many ways, namely: cutting and hauling wood for the elderly, widows, and needy families; clean ing homes for some elderly and infirm persons; gathering clothes and food for families in emergency situations; and doing home repairs, which includes building a new porch for a family. Many elderly persons are re ceiving weekly cleaning service due to the actions of this club. James O. Cunningham was ap pointed president of the club at its inception and remains as presi dent. The theme for this year's cele bration will be "The Old Time Way". Miss Olivarri is the daughter of Mrs. Virginia Saund ers of Lynchburg. Virginia. Mr. Brock is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.T. Brock. Jr. of Rockfish. Rev. Robert Clegg of Campbell College and Rev. Dennis Sheppard of Sanford. uncle of the groom officiated the ceremony. A program of wedding music was presented by church organist, Mr. Bryan Miller and soloist, Mr. Don Brock of Raeford who sang "If* ?nd, 7?or Like A Shepherd Leads Us . The church was decorated with two seven branch brass candle labras with burning tapers, ferns on stands and two large wedding baskets of white snapdragons, mums, glads and daisies inter spersed with gypsophelia. The bride was attired in a full length gown of ivory chiffon trimmed with matching lace and buttons. The fitted bodice had a sweetheart neckline, full lentrth sleeves and the skirt had a deep floor length sweep with lace hem line trim. Her headpiece was of ivory silk flowers and net, designed by the mother of the groom, and carried a bouquet of ivory and white silk flowers with matching streamers. Mrs. Debbie Chenult of Lynch burg, Virginia, sister of the bride ?as matron of honor. She was attired in a yellow chiffon full length gown and carried a bouquet of yellow and white silk flowers with matching streamers and wore matching flowers in her hair. Miss Jennifer Elizabeth Brock, sister of the groom was flower girl. She was attired in a full length gown of yellow and white calico print and earned a white basket of yellow and white silk flowers with matching streamers. She also wore a head bow to match her dress. Marvin Stephens of Rockfish served as best man. Ushers were S;ePhens of Rockfish and Todd Wood of Dillon. The mother of the groom was attired in a street length dress of cranberry velour and wore a white carnation corsage. The grooms' maternal grandmother. Mrs. Willie Sheppard of Aberdeen and his paternal grandmother. Mrs. E.T. Brock, Sr. wore white carnation corsages. Mr. Brock attended Hoke County High School and is pre sently employed by House of Rae ford. Mrs. Brock attended school ?L/n.c?urg. Virginia. They will reside in Rockfish.
