Webb-Lea Wedding Nuptials Exchanged In Culdee Church Miss Fonda Darlene Lea became the bride of David Niven Webb on Saturday, January 9 at 2 p.m. in the Culdee Presbyterian Church in West End. Miss Lea is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Graham Wilson Lea of West End. Mr. Webb is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Lee Webb of Raeford. The Rev. Benjamin McCoy of West End officiated at the double ring cere ^ mony. The church was decorated with two arrangements of yellow spider mums and lavender chrysanthe mums. Seven-branched candelabra holding lighted tapers stood on either side of the altar. Unity candles were placed beside the altar. Honor pews were marked with candelight bows. * A program of wedding music was presented by organist, Mrs. Larry Richardson. Soloist was Mrs. Leland Strother, who sang "The Wedding Song", "Wedding Pray er", and ''Evergreen". The bride was given in marriage by her father. She chose a winter white wool suit and carried a cascade of white orchids. Miss Miriam Bailey of New York | City served as maid of honor. She wore a plum wool suit and carried a bouquet of day lilies and lilies-of the valley. Bridesmaids were the sisters - of - the bride, Miss Robbie Lea and Mrs. Donald Williamson of West End and Miss Anne Von-Cannon of Southern Pines. The brides maids wore suits and carried bouquets identical to that of the p honor attendant. Flower girl was Miss Valerie Webb of Fayetteville, niece of the groom. Ringbearers were Steven Lea of West End, nephew of the bride, and Keith Webb of Fay etteville, nephew of the groom. The bride's book was kept by Miss Allison McCaskill and Miss Anisa McCaskill of Greensboro, nieces of the bride. Mr. Webb served as his son's ) best man. Ushers were Carlton Brock of Aurora, Missouri, friend of the groom, Richard Lea of West End, nephew of the bride, and Eric Mclnnis of West End. Raeford JWC Meets The Raeford Junior Woman's Club met on January 18, at 7:30, at the Hoke County Civic Center. Several of the members refreshed the club with hot chocolate and doughnuts. Jane Britt. club president, called the meeting to order. Many issues were discussed. Thanks were ex tended to all the members involved in helping the two needy families during Christmas and also for preparing delicious refreshments for the December meeting. The club also plans to work the March of Dimes telethon. The club will be answering calls at Dr. Southerland's office in Raeford. This will take place on February 7 through Channel 40. Another activity that the club has sponsored is a "hot line" from the high school directly to the health department. This line will be set up for teenagers with questions about family planning and other items that concern them. This line should be open shortly. The club is also checking into the possibility of renting out safety seats for babies, although this will require much study and legal advice. On March 6. the Junior Women will nominate senior boys and girls for the Sallie Southall Cotten Scholarship. There will be two winners. Each will receive $150. On February 8. the club plans an orientation for new members at the home of Gwen Booker. The last order of business con cerned the selling of candy during February. All members will be around selling delicious candv. so be watching. The meeting was adjourned and th? refreshments were served.
