The board of education office brought forth seven candidates for the three seats. There should be a second primary in the race for county commissioners, but the board of education winners will be the three high vote getters. With all these candidates on the ballot get prepared to take some time to talk with them. Find out why they are in the race and what their qualifications are for the job. The duties of the board of commis sioners will get more important as more federal programs are shifted to the states and to the local boards. Be sure you vote for the man or woman you want to handle your money. Also the revaluation will mean a new tax rate must go into effect in the county. This means that these members will say how much money comes out of your pocket. This should be important to all of us. So take time to talk to the can didates and question them on these matters!" It will be too late after the primary. * ? + Don't forget to buy your city tags. There are a few days left before the deadline (Feb. 15th). Board (Continued from page 1) Wright and Boyles get together with -the county manager and resolve the tie by a method to be agreed on by all three. This could be for examples, simply by tossing a coin or drawing straws, or by splitting the quota. The other bidder for the quota was David S. Currie, Jr., of Rt. 2, Raeford, who offered 38,4008 cents per pound. The total payments would be $615 each by Wright and Boyles, and would have been S588.30 by Currie.
