N C HOME 875 4419 The American Red Cross Blood mobile visited Hoke County High School Friday, and many students and nonstudents responded to the appeal for donations of blood. The visit was sponsored by the high school's chapter of Health Occupations Students of America. The HOSA students assisted the nurses and with registration and other details. The students of Hoke High's Food Service Class prepared the refreshments for the donors. Volunteers from the community outside the school helped also. They included Hazel Hendrix and Ella Walker, and nurses. The program was held in MacDonald Gymnasium at Hoke High. Here are pictures taken during the day. The volunteers gave 150 pints of blood. Most of them were students. Bible Study Miss 1. Ruth Martin, associate professor of religion. Pembroke State University, will conduct a weekly "in-depth" Bible Study commencing March I? at Pittman Grove Baptist Church. The pastor. Rev. Mack Mussel white. announced today that Miss Martin, writer and traveler, will lead a course- titled "Lifting Up." The six-week course will have these primary emphases: "Personal examination and consecration and prayer as a technique and tool. This study will be offered each Wednesday evening 7-9:30 in the church Fellowship Hall. An enroll ment fee of $8 to defray expenses will be required. Miss Martin's travels include 13 Holy Land trips, to Israel: an archaelogical "dig" in Jerusalem at the City of David: and seven tours of Europe. She is listed in "Who's Who In South" as an "Outstanding Teacher" as well as the author of articles which have appeared in numerous publications and of jour nalism correspondence to leading state newspapers.
