Defeats Lee County
Hoke Track Team Wins First In 3 Years
The Hoke County High School
boys' track team won its first meet
in three years last week, defeating
Lee County 80-56.
The Bucks have one loss tor the
season to date. Their third meet is
on Thursday with Terry Sant'ord at
the latter's field.
Robert Moody led the winners
with I1V4 points. Paul Hunt was
next with 10. and Ronnie McKae
got 8.
Hunt won the mile and two mile
runs. MiH?dy won the high and
intermediate hurdles and also was
on the winning mile relay team,
whose other members were Jerry
McMillan. David McMillan and
Willie Bridges. The winning relay
time was 3:45.4.

tion games for practice, and the
season will officially start April 3.

at the Hoke High baseball field.
Many opening-day activities are
planned.

of several locations. Also, season
tickets will be on sale for S10.

Hoke Tennis Outing Friday
The Hoke Tennis Association
outing and meeting will be held
Friday in McLauchlin Park at the
tennis courts, starting with a wiener
roast at 6:30 p.m.
A business meeting will be held
afterward, then family games will
be played, with prizes awarded.
In case of rain, the meeting will
be held in the Hoke County Public
Library starting at 7:30 p.m.
The outing and meeting are for
all members and people who want
to join the association, and their
families. People who want to join
may pay their dues when they
arrive.
The association announcement
says. "Bring your family and your
tennis racquet."
