Box 133, Raeford, has been named one of the two Intramural Officials of the Year at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Duncan Buoyer is a senior majoring in chemistry. He received the honor in the university's intramural recreation sports program for his service as a referee. He is a graduate of Hoke County High School and was president of the high school band, a member of the National Honor Society and was named Most Valuable Player on the tennis team in High school. In the UNC intramural program he has won four championships in tennis, has been recognized for his personal athletic ability and his participation and sportsmanship in the activities. He has served as an official in softball and volleyball. Buoyer is a member of Alpha Chi Sigma, the professional chemistry fraternity. James E. Barron-McKay Couple Wed In Dunn Church Dunn's First Presbyterian Church was the setting on April the third for the wedding of Melissa Currie McKay and Duane David Barron. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Arthur McKay are the parents of the bride. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Sanford David Barron of Charlotte. The afternoon ceremony, held at three o'clock, was performed by the bride's minister, Rev. Grant M. Sharp, before a background of brass tree candelabra and palms highlighted by arrangements of mixed spring flowers, babies' breath and greenery. Music was provided by Mrs. Ralph Montgomery, church organ ist and the children's Crusader Choir from the church. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore her mother's wed ding gown of candlelight satin fashioned with long tapering sleeves and decolletage neckline finished with a wide bertha of antique rosepoint lace. The full skirt extended into a cathedral train. Her veil of French illusion was attached to a headpiecc of imported French silk flowers and pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of ivory bridal roses, sweetheart roses, stephanotis. and ivy. Her only omamanet was her grandmother's pearls. Serving as matron of honor was Mrs. Paul Turner of Boone. She wore a Victorian gown of antique rose crepe with a chiffon blouse trimmed in lace and embroidery and carried a nosegay of spring flowers. Shane Johnson of Charlotte, the flower girl, wore an ivory dress patterned with rosebuds, trimmed with ivory antique lace and rose satin ribbon. She carried a wicker basket of roses. Jeffrey Brady of Savannah, Georgia, was the ring bearer. Honorary bridesmaids were Miss Shelia Reece of Blowing Rock. Mrs. Gordon Ferrell of Greens boro, Miss Marian Logan of Char lotte, Mrs. Ellen Foster Long of Falls Church, Virginia, and Miss Pandora Hayes of Greenville. South Carolina. Each of the honory attendants carried a long-stemmed ivory rose. The best man was Robert Michael Johnson of Charlotte. Ushers were Leon Arthur McKay, Jr., and John Scott McKay of Raleigh, brothers of the bride; Dwight Paul Barron. Drew Sanford Barron. Dale Stephen Barron, brothers of the bridegroom; and Herman Gale Nicholson of Char lotte. The bride's mother chose a gown of ivory chiffon and lace accented by a corsage of green cymbidium orchids. A corsage of white orchids complemented the mauve gown worn by the bridegroom's mother. For travel to Kiawah Island the bride wore a navy and white linen suit with a corsage of roses. The bride, a graduate of Appa lachian State University is a Learn ing Disabilities teacher at Park Road School in Charlotte. The bridegroom is in a cooperative program in Electronic Engineering at C.P.C.C. and UNC-Charlotte. Mrs. Duane David Barron He is employed by Jim Rogers and Associates of Charlotte. The couple will reside at 5101 Park Road in Charlotte. RECEPTION The Church Parlor was the setting for the reception immedi ately following the ceremony. Decorations carried out a spring motif. Guests were directed to the church parlor by Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Brady of Savannah. Georgia, where they were greeted by Col. and Mrs. George Pope McKay of Tampa. Florida, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Fitchett, Jr. Presiding at the guest register were Mrs. J. Hugh Lowe and Miss Maude Poole of Raeford. Punch was served from a silver punch bowl by Mrs. Edward Palmer Davis, Jr. and Mrs. Neil McFadyen of Raeford. The tiered wedding cake topped with a nose gay of sweetheart roses was served by Mrs. Gordon Townsend and Mrs. William Creel. Goodbyes were said to Mr. and Mrs. S.H. Ausley and Mr. and Mrs. William S. Tart. POST REHEARSAL DINNER Heath's Steak House was the setting for a dinner after the rehearsal hosted by the bride groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sanford David Barron. Mixed spring flowers decorated the table. After a cocktail hour a steak dinner was served to members of the bridal party and out of town guests. WEDDING BREAKFAST A wedding breakfast was held in honor of the bridal couple at Howard Johnson's Restaurant on Saturday, April the third at ten thirty. The affair was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. S.H. Ausley. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Fitchett. Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Paul Turner, Mrs. Jhn Cic cone, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bagwell, < Mr. and Mrs. J. Hugh Lowe. Miss Maude Poole, and Mrs. Dan Beach. The table was decorated with mixed spring flowers. Mem bers of the wedding party and out of town guests attended. BUFFET After the reception a champagne buffet was held on the terrace of the McKay home. Wrought iron lan- < terns and pink azaleas decorated ' the terrace, where a cocktail buffet was served to the wedding party and out of town guests. Hosts for this event were Mr. and Mrs. E. Palmer Davis, Jr.. Mr. and Mrs. William S. Tart, Dr. and Mrs. Gordon Townsend, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Alabaster, and Col. and Mrs. Ray Whitaker. The bride is the great grand daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David , Scott Poole and Mr. and Mrs. John Calvin Currie of Raeford. Her grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. Archibald Keahey Currie. She is the daughter of the former Leonora Currie and Leon McKay of Dunn. Mrs. J. Hugh Lowe and Miss Maude Poole are the great aunts of the bride.
