Community Services Block Grant Agency Serving Hoke Gets #281,603 Community Services Block Grants totaling S281.603 were made recently to the community action agency serving Hoke County, according to Joseph W. Grimsley, secretary of the State Department of Natural Resources and Community Development. Grimsley said the grant was made to Four-County Community Services, Inc. to help poor people in areas such as employment, educa tion, better use of available income, housing, emergency assistance and community involvement. Grimsley said that North Caro lina has been allotted $9.3 million for the 1981-82 fiscal year by the federal Department of Health and Human Services. "This is a reduc tion of over 12 percent from the previous year's allotment," he added. Grimsley also stated that if President Reagan's proposed budget is enacted by Congress, Community Services Block Grants to the state will be reduced by an additional 70 percent in 1983, for a total of only S2.7 million.
