Boys, Girls In Charlotte Relays Trackmen Win Dual, 2nd In Triangular The Hoke High boys' track team heat South view Thursday, 91 Vi to 40 '/j. then on Monday finished second in a triangular meet with K.E. Smith and Lumberton. On Saturday, the Hoke Boys' j nd girls' track teams participated ,n the Queen City Relays in C harlotte. Edward Watson of Hoke , laced fourth in the discus with a throw of 138 feet 9 inches. Paul ?lunt of Hoke placed fifth in the 200-meter run with a time of ^8.6. Jay Headen of Hoke ran a 10.8 in the 100-meter dash but did not place. In the south view meet. Willie Bridges broke his school record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.86. Ronnie McRae broke his school record in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:08.84. Paul Hunt won the mile and two-mile runs. Darrell Cromartie won the shot put. and the discus, and Jay Headen won the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, and Lowell Sim mons won the long jump with a 21 feet 2 inch leap. On Monday, the Bucks scored 58 points, finishing behind Smith, which scored 75. and ahead of Lumberton, which scored 44. Several school records were broken. Hunt and McRae broke the 1. 600-meter run record with times of 4:34.05 and 4:34.14. Bridges broke his 400-meter record with a time of 51.77. The 800-meter relay team set a new mark of 1 :32.58, and the mile relav team set a new record of 3:58.54. The 800-meter relay team is composed of David McNatt. Bridges. Ricky McNeill and Headen. Players eligible are those whose 15th birthdays come on or after August 1; or whose 13th birthdays come on or before August 1, 1982.
