Area Incidents Thieves Get TV Set, ? Video Game Money The following was reported this week to the Hoke County Sheriffs Department. Someone broke into the home of Ronnie and Pat Gorton on Rt. 2, Raeford, Sunday and stole a $900 color television set. Raeford Police Chief Leonard Wiggins reported his department received the following complaints. Someone kicked open the door of Conward Cobb's apartment in the Page and Trust Building Satur day. Nothing was reported miss ing. Someone broke into Elizabeth Collins's 1977 Ford Pinto Satur day and stole a pocketbook. The value of the pocketbook and its contents total $178. The car was parked at the home of Patricia Ann Posteil, 104 N. Fulton St., at the time. Macks Stores reported Sunday a juvenile shoplifter took four toy vehicles valued at a total $6.92. The juvenile was picked up, the toys recovered, and the case turned over to the juvenile authorities. Someone broke into the video machine at The Pantry on Harris Avenue Thursday and stole $52.25 in quarters. Two Complete Service Records Two employees in the Industrial Engineering Department of the | Raeford Plant, Burlington In dustries, recently completed con tinuous service records of merit. Gertrude Williford, Clerk III, received a 30-year diamond pen and certificate and a pen-and pencil set. She began work at the local plant as a spinner and was promoted into the I.E. Depart ment in 1976. Bonnie Young, industrial | engineer, received a 25-year dia mond pen and certificate and a bracelet. She began work as a mender and was promoted into the I.E. Department in 1961. Sanctuary Groundbreaking Ground for the new sanc tuary of First Baptist Church of . Raeford will be broken in a ' ceremony Sunday following the regular morning worship service. Participants will include the pastor, the Rev. Billy Beaver; Glenn Langdon, chairman of the church's Board of Deacons; and Ashwell Harward, chair man of the Building commit tee.
