to the Wingate College Dean's List
for the spring semester. It takes a
grade-point average of at least 3.3
of a possible 4.0 with no grade
lower than "C" for a student to
qualify for the Dean's List.
Bible School
The Vacation Bible School of
Sandy Grove United Methodist
Church is under way this week at
the church, with the commence
ment scheduled for 6 p.m. Satur
day. followed by a picnic.
liie new pastor of Sandy Grove,
the Rev. Russell Knowles, and his
wife will be welcomed formally at
the commencement.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
The Bible School classes started
Monday and are being held daily
from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
through Friday.
Vacation Bible School will be
held at Freedom Chapel AME Zion
Church, Monday, June 21. through
Friday, June 25.

Cataldo-Whiteis Couple
Wed In Texas Ceremony
Wedding vows were exchanged
by Shirley Rene Whiteis and
Charles Christopher Cataldo, Sat
urday evening, May twenty second
at 7:00 p.m. in The First Methodist
Church, Bedford, Texas.
Officiating was Father Philip
Johnson of Arlington, Texas.
The altar of the church was
flanked by a pair of five branched
candelabra trees centered by a
fifteen branched candelabra, en
twined with greenery, yellow roses,
daisies and miniature carnations.
Six Boston ferns completed the
decor.
A program of wedding music was
presented by Miss Denise French of
Arlington.
Parents of the couple are Mr.
and Mrs. Lester M. Whiteis of
Hurst, Texas, and Mr. Charles C.
Cataldo and the late Mrs. Cataldo
of Andover. Massachusetts. The
bride is the granddaughter of Oscar
Scull of Raeford and the late Mrs.
Scull.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a formal length
gown of white organdy with a
bodice of brocaded mesh, seeded
with baby pearls and irridescent
sequins, forming a sweetheart off -
the - shoulder neckline. Her floor -
length veil and blushing veil of
white organza net attached to a
headband of brocaded net with
matching baby pearls. She carried
a bouquet of yellow rose buds,
daisies, white miniature carnations
and a Japette orchid which she
lifted from her bouquet and wore
on her honeymoon.
Arlene White of Fort Worth
served her sister as matron - of -
honor. She wore a gown of yellow
organdy and carried a bouquet of
yellow roses, daisies, and miniature
carnations.
Bridesmaids were Michele
Whiteis, sister - in ? law of the
bride, of Hurst. Mary Anne Pelle
grino. cousin of the groom, of New
York, Shirley Warfford of Hurst,
and Sheri Grant of Arlington.
Texas. They were attired like the
honor attendant and carried
matching bouquets.
Mollie Jean Adams, cousin of the
bride, served as flower girl. She was
dressed entirely in white and
carried a miniature lace basket of
artificial yellow hearts with yellow

REHEARSAL DINNER
The groom's father hosted the
rehearsal dinner on Friday at "The
Cork and Cleaver Restaurant" in
Arlington. Gifts were presented to
the wedding party by the bride and
