The bride is the daughter of Olive Sontag and the late W.A. Sontag of Fayetteville. The bride Miss Gillis, Mr. Willis ?Are Honored Mr. and Mrs- Gilbert Lewis Lindsay entertained Beth Gillis and David Willis on Friday. July 23. at Chason's Restaurant in Lumber Bridge. Twenty guests enjoyed the boun tiful barbecue and seafood snior gasborg dinner. Among those at ? tending were Mr. and Mrs. John Davis Gillis. parents of the bride felect and Mr. and Mrs. William Edwin Wjllis, parents of the pros pective bridegroom. Miss Gillis and Mr. Willis will be married during the 11:00 a.m. worship service at Galatia Presby terian Church on August 8. Miss Tucker ?Honor Guest At Shower Terri Tucker was honored with a floating bridal shower at the home of Mrs. James Davis on Saturday evening, July 24. Other hostesses were Mrs. Ralph Calloway. Mrs. Larry Glisson, Mrs. Nancy Payne 0and Mrs. Gary Adkins. Upon arrival the bride-elect was presented with a house blessing corsage, as were her mother. Mrs. Jack Tucker and the groom-elect's mother. Mrs. Leonard Frahm. Refreshments were served from the dining room table which was covered with an embroidered linen cloth and centered with an arrange ? ment of silk flowers and babies breath. Guest enjoyed bridal cake squares, mints, nuts and punch. Gifts were beautifully displayed in the living room. The hostesses presented the honoree with a set of iced tea glasses. Miss Tucker and Reggie Frahm ^ will be married on August 22. groom is the son of Lester and Dorothy Sessoms of Raeford. Dr. L.P. Plyler officiated the outdoor service at the home of the bride. The couple will reside in Fayette ville. Drop-In Honors Misses Harrell, Bounds On July 17th Misses Lynn Har rell & Susan Bounds were honored at a drop-in at the home of Mrs. George Wood. Other hostesses were Mrs. Henry Bernstein, Mrs. Jesse Gulledge. Mrs. Joe Upchurch and Mrs. Richard Coker. The honorees were presented corsages of miniature lilies. After the guests greeted the brides-elect and their mothers, they were invited into the dining room for refreshments. The table was covered with an Army-Navy table cloth and centered with a silk arrangement. Mrs. Jim Madden and Mrs. Bobby Gentry, mothers of the grooms-elect served punch. Other refreshments consisted of cake squares, cheese wafers, chicken salad tarts, assorted tea sand wiches. cheese squares and melon balls. Huggins, Sr. of Red Springs was honored on her eighty third birthday Sunday, July 25. A "sit-down" luncheon on the lawn was given by her children, Mr. and Mrs. James C. Huggins of Red Springs, L.M. Huggins, Jr. of Meredith College, Raleigh, Jack Huggins of Anderson, South Caro lina, and Mrs. Jimmy Brock, Sr. of Morganton. The tables were covered with multi-colored tablecloths and a beautiful yellow and blue birthday cake was cut and served with various other desserts shortly after lunch. Mrs. Huggins was remembered with gifts, and pictures were taken during the day. Chason Reunion Is Planned The Chason Family Reunion will be held on August 1, at 1:00 p.m. at the Boy Scout Clubhouse in Parkton. The wedding is planned for September 25. Maynord - Holmes Mrs. Sarabelle B. Holmes of Hamlet announces the marriage of her daughter, Sara Elizabeth Holmes Woodard, to John M. Maynard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Maynard of Cayce, S.C. The wedding took place at the Village Chapel. Pinehurst. at four o'clock July 18. Only members of the immediate families attended the ceremony. The couple will make their home at Raeford. Patti Lunsford Wins Award Patti Lunsford was announced last week as a 1981 winner of a Youth Unit Leader Award of the Woodmen of the World for service to youth through the Women's Raeford Unit. She also was a 1980 winner. SOCIALS - 875-2121 Recipe Shower Fetes Miss Bounds Miss Susan Bounds, bride-elect, was honored at a recipe shower on Saturday, July 17, at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Wendell Young. Other hostesses were Mrs. Wendell Young, Jr., Mrs. Wilton Wood, and Miss Beth Wood. Summer flowers decorated the living and dining rooms. Guests were served a frozen strawberry dessert. The honoree received favorite recipes from the guests as well as some item that would be used in preparing the recipe. Mrs. Wright Is Honored On Birthday Mrs. J.C. Wright was honored by her daughter. Mrs. E.C. Wall and family at a surprise birthday party at the Wagon Wheel Restaurant on Saturday, July 17. A delicious meal was served, after which Mrs. Wright was presented with many lovely gifts. Her grand-daughter. Diane Price, made her a beautiful birthday cake which everyone enjoyed very much. Those present for the celebration were Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Wall from Knightdale; Mr. and Mrs. L.H. Lynn Harrell and Mark Madden were honored with a cookout on Friday evening at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Riley Jordan. Upon arrival the bride was presented with a corsage of white daisies. Guests were invited to the porch and patio which was decorated with ferns, yellow mums and daisies. Hot dogs and hamburgers were served from tables covered with red and white gingham cloths.
