Area Incidents I Motorcycle, Helmets Stolen Raeford Police Chief Leonard Wiggins reported his department received the following complaints recently. A motorcycle owned by Charles Baldwin of Rt. 3, Raeford, was reported stolen from the House of Raeford parking lot September 14, and two motorcycle helmets were reported stolen from a motorcycle owned by Odell Smith of Rt. 2. St. Pauls, the same day. The two motorcycles were parked side by side. Baldwin reported his motor cycle was a 1973 Honda 750 worth S950, and Smith reported the helmets were worth $65. Hoke County Deputy Sheriff Jimmy Riley of 111 Birch Circle. Raeford. reported September 14 a girl's bicycle worth $189 was stolen from his front yard. Matthew McGregor reported September 15 the battery was stolen from his 1972 Chevrolet auto while it was parked in the Raeford Apartments parking lot. The thief did about $10 damage to the cables I in removing the battery. A traffic accident about 4:10 a.m. Saturday on South Main Street just south of Edenborough Shopping Center cut off power temporarily in that and nearby areas. A 1974 Chevrolet auto being driven north on South Main by Hubert Anthony Peterkin, Box 249, Keith Avenue. Raeford, ran . off the street to the right and struck a power pole, clipping the pole in two. Peterkin was treated for injuries at Cape Fear Valley Hospi tal in Fayetteville. Wiggins de scribed the injuries as minor. He quoted the driver as saying he fell asleep while driving.
