Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Williams and children and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Scarborough recently spent the weekend at Carolina Beach. Mrs. George Bethune of North Myrtle Beach, and daughter, Mrs. George Brewer of Charleston, S.C. were guests in the home of Mrs. Kate Blue Covington on last Fri day. Martin Webb is recuperating at home after undergoing surgery last Thursday. He was released Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John McFadyen of Raleigh spent the weekend of Nov. 17 in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Neill McFadyen. They accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Mc Fadyen and Mr. and Mrs. Neill McFadyen. Jr. to the McLean Clan gathering at the Pinehurst Country Club on Saturday night. On Sun day they all attended the buffet luncheon of the clan at the Presby terian Philadelphus Presbyterian churcn out from Red Springs. Members provided a delicious variety of salads, tea and rolls for iheir guests and everyone enjoyed the friendly meal before the club convened for its October business meeting. President, Mrs. Jane Britt. called the meeting to order. Old and new business was discussed, after which Linda Stanton, 2nd vice-president, ?velcomed prospective members and urged them to join the club. She gave special thanks to club members who helped with the membership drive and the salad supper preparations. In order to in troduce club activities to these guests. Miss Stanton asked Mrs. Sonya Falls to read a report sum marizing the club's activities dur ing the past year. Mrs. Britt adjourned the meeting after encouraging the guests to become members. Haunted House Opens Thursday Halloween has arrived and the Raeford Jaycees will once again haunt a local house for the enjoy ment of the people of Raeford and Hoke County. The only difference in this years Haunted Houses and the past four is that the location for the house will be in the City Limits of Raeford. To be more precise, the corner of Edinborough and Stewart Streets across from the Hoke County Sheriffs Office. The Haunted House will open on Thursday, October 28 at 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and run through Sunday, October 31. Admission will be $2 per person with children 6 years old and under admitted free. Everyones favorite monsters w ill be on hand for the occasion with many new and different ones. The Raeford Jaycees are work ing hard to make this house the best one yet. Many visitors who have visited past houses have com mented that it is one of the best in the state. Through the leadership of chair man Danny Gibson and Charles Crowder we are sure that this one will also be one of the be>.t. From Frankenstein and his monster and the Wax Museum to the new Friday 13th and tiie Grave Yard, we guarantee to "Scare the Yell out of you". From hangings to all kinds of torture, there is excitement for everyone. Bring the family out for entertainment and there will be fiee candy for all children who dare enter the house. The Raeford Jaycees are using this time to also help to 'aicc money for the THM Classes at the Upchurch Junior High School. A percentage of the Saturday's nights admission will go to this very worthwhile cause.
