Man Brannen of Atlanta. Ga.,' Erica Cope of Kernersville, cousin of the bnde. They wore identical gowns as that of the matron of honor and carried identical nosegays. Jimmy Richardson of Eagle springs cousin of the bride and John Ghsson of Raeford were alcolyter. The men in the wedding wore charcoal gray tuxedoes. Best man was Jim Mortimer of Atlanta, Ga., friend of the groom. Ushers were David Ream of Mrs. Dean Earl Smith Atlanta, Allen McNulty of Fayette ville, cousin of the bride, Julian E. Parks, Jr. of Greenville. Andrew Parks and John Parks of Raeford, brothers of the bride. The bride's mother wore a gown of crystal nylon sachet with a bertha collar trimmed with im ported French lace with a tiered skirt. She wore a wrist corsage of purple violets. "Hie mother of the groom wore a mint green silk gown and a corsage of violets. The flower girl was Jennifer Parks of Raeford, cousin of the bride. She wore a gown of white voile and taffeta with Chantilly lace sleeves and inserts and carried a basket of white and pink rose petals with white satin streamers. The ringbearer was Harrison Harper of Lillington, friend of the bride. He wore a tuxedo of charcoal gray. Nina Richardson of Eagle Springs, cousin of the bride and Nina Upchurch of High Falls, cousin of the bride directed the wedding. REHEARSAL DINNER An after rehearsal dinner was given by the grooms mother and held at the Holiday Inn in the Sandhills Room in Southern Pines. The tables were decorated with white carnation daisies, mums and candles. A prayer was given by the brides brother Julian E. Parks, Jr. After the traditional toast given by Jim Mortimer, best man, the bride gave a toast to her parents who were celebrating their wedding anniversary and to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Harper who were also celebrating theirs. The bride and groom were entertained at a cocktail party and dance by friends and family after the rehearsal dinner at J. Alberts in Southern Pines. RECEPTION The reception was hosted by the brides parents at the Pinehurst Hotel in the South room. The registration table was draped with a linen cloth, with an arrangement of pink candles, car nations mufTts and daisies. A baby picture of the bride and one of the groom were also displayed. A table covered with white linen was used for gifts. Two round tables draped in white linen were used for Cham pagne punch and fruit punch. The three tiered white wedding cake with gypsophila and fern was served by Mrs. Ruth Phillips of Raeford. Another round table draped in white linen held a variety of Hors d'oeuvres and finger foods placed in silver trays. Mrs. Hester Davis served Cham pagne punch. Mrs. Velma Cope and Wanda Williams served punch. Honored guests were Janice Parks and Florence Williams, aunts of the bride. They wore gowns of Chiffon of yellow and salmon, respectively. The bride graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a degree in music. She also attended the School of the Arts in Winston-Salem. She is employed by Bostick in Atlanta as a sales representative. The groom graduated from North Georgia College. He is employed as a sales manager with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Atlanta. He also is a major in the Army reserves. After a wedding trip to Key West, Fla., they will be at home in Stone Mountain, Ga. Flea Market items Attend Wedding In Raleigh Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pope and members of their family attended the wedding of Mrs. Pope's niece, Lisa Gayle Byrd and John Edward Garrity. both of Cary, Saturday in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Cary. The bride is a graduate of N.C. State University. She is a casing manager for Frito Lay Co. The froom is a station agent for iedmont Airline. They will live in Charlotte. After the wedding the Pope's accompanied Mrs. Pope's father, D. A. Byrd, who also attended the wedding, to his home in Burlington for the night and returned home Sunday. Brock Couple To Celebrate Anniversary The family of Mr. and Mrs. E.T. Personals Mrs. Nita Mae Williams and Mrs. Fleeta Maxwell visited in the home of Mrs. Myrtle Smith in Kan napolis Tuesday of last week. Mrs. Martha Nave and her daughter, Mrs. Debbie Tolar of Wanchese spent last Saturday in Raleigh to attend the wedding of Mrs. Nave's niece. Miss Cindy Wright to Bob Walton. Miss Wright is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wright, formerly of Raeford. Both the bride and groom attended UNC-Chapel Hill. Mr. Walton is a radio announcer for WQDR in Raleigh. Home for the weekend was Mrs. Debbie Tolar of Wanchese, daughter of Mrs. Martha Nave. Mrs. Tolar visited especially to attend the wedding of her cousin. Miss Cindy Wright of Raleigh. Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Crumpler of Marshville and son Josh spent last weekend with Mrs. Crumpler's mother, Mrs. Marianna McLean. While here they visited with their son, Wally, at NCSU on Saturday. On Sunday they visited with Mr. Crumpler's mother in Mt. Olive. Mr*. Carlton Niven, Social Reporter, 875-3785 Woman's Club Wins Awards At District Meet Friday Mrs. Clara Pope The Raeford Woman's Club, member of the National Federation of Women's Club, won two awards at the 9th District Meeting of the State Federation of Women's Clubs in Rockingham on Friday of last week. Mrs. Clara Pope, president of the local club, accepted the two engraved silver bowls in behalf of the club members. The two awards "Gene Tart Community Service Award" and "Cooperation & Involvement Award," were presented to the club for their participation in the follow ing programs in Raeford and Hoke County: "Share Your Christmas," "Reading Is Fundamental," "Spe cial Olympics," "I Can" class at the Sandhill Youth Center for which they provided two banquets; "Festival of Art," a program headed by Mrs. Mary Archie McNeill, coordinator for Arts Edu cation with the Hoke County Board of Education, and "Christmas Gifts and Cakes for Sandhill Youth Center." The local club was also presented an Arts award as 1st runnerup. Among members attending from Raeford were Clara Pope, Mtna Townsend, Charlotta King, Eloise Roberts and Kay Thomas.
