NICE PET ? 77ii's 6-months-old male terrier (among other things ) would
make somebody a good pet. says County Dog Warden William Hates. The
healthy little pooch is among the dogs at the County Dog Pound.
ADOPT ABLE PUREBRED - This 2-year-old male, purebred
Weimeraner is waiting at the Hoke County Dog Pound to be adopted.
He's a good watch dog, reports County Dog Warden William Hales, who
can be reached through the Hoke County Health Department.
Donations Reach $865
Donations to the Racford-Hoke
County Humane Society fund to
help finance the new county dog
pound had reached $865 by Mon
day morning.
This was reported by Sheryl
McGinnis, a director of the society
and Friends of the Animals
volunteer.
The drive, being conducted by
the society, was started this month.
Mrs. McGinnis advised people
interested in contributing to make
checks payable to the County of
Hoke and to specify that the dona
i
tion is to be used for the new
pound. The donations are tax
deductible, Mrs. McGinnis added.
A new pound will cost about
$27,000, it has been estimated. The
City of Raeford has S7.000 in its
budget for the city's share of the
cost, and the county government
would be responsible for providing
the rest.
Mrs. McGinnis can be reached
by mail at Rt. 4, Box 410C,
Raeford, or by telephone at
875-3283 or 875-8861.
