Suns Stop Wrecking Crew The Parks and Recreation's Men's Basketball League saw ac tion Monday, February 7 with two tough games on schedule. The opening game paired the Suns against the Wrecking Crew. The Suns gathered the win 94-85. J. Gilmore scored 23 points, and N. McNeill with 23 for the Suns, while N. McNeill scored 30 points and L. McArn pumped in 16 for the Wrecking Crew. In the second game, the 76ers defeated Scurlock Tigers 61-55. T. Frahm scored 14 and C. Black with 12 were high scorers for the 76ers. Scurlock Tigers were led by K. Jones with 15 points and J. Melvin with 13 points. In Wednesday night action, the Silver Hill Gang defeated the All Stars 89-65. C. Chandler scored 17 points and J. Adams tossed in 17 also for the Silver Hill Gang. The All Stars were led by R. Maynor with 22 points. The night's closing game went to the 76ers over the Wrecking Crew 100-86. D. Huff scored 20 for the 76ers while D. Small Ensemble To Perform Here The West Carterei Small Ensem ble will be performing at the Raeford Presbyterian Church, Sunday, February 20 during the morning worship service. This group is made up of 22 students from West Carteret High School in Morehead City, N.C. The West Carteret Small Ensem ble is composed of singers from the top performing group at the high school, West Carteret Singers. The Choral department at West Carteret consists of three groups ? Chorus, the beginners; Concert Choir the intermediate group; and the West Carteret Singers. A small ensemble was formed for the first time last year. The festival chairman is Jerry Cribbs. Choral Director of J.T. Hoggard High School in Wilm ington, N.C., formerly of Raeford. After their performance, the group will travel to Raeford and on Saturday Night they will attend the Bordeaux Dinner Theatre in Fayetteville for "West Side Story." They will return to Morehead on Sunday afternoon. This weekend trip was made possible by the cooperation and support of the students, Mrs. John Nelson, Principal of West Carteret High School; Dr. John C. Ropp. pastor of Raeford Presbyterian and Mr. Ashley Burell, organist; Rachel Stevens and Mrs. Mary Ar chie McNeill. The West Carteret Small Ensem ble is under the direction of Miss Susan Gillis. Susan is a 1976 graduate of Hoke High School and a 1980 graduate of East Carolina University. She is in her third year of teaching at West Carteret. She is 'he daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold L.
