S-M-L-XL. 10" Deaths & Funerals Mrs. Elizabeth Stewart Mrs. Elizabeth Duke Stewart, 75, of Raeford, died Thursday in Manor Care in Pinehurst. Funeral Services were conducted by Rev. Herman Winberry at the Raeford United Methodist Church, and burial was in Rox boro at 3 p.m. in the Burchwood Cemetery. Mrs. Stewart is survived by a son, James Stewart of Charistian burg, Virginia, a daughter, Mrs. Bob Gentry of Raeford, a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Nuckols Dotson of Richmond, Virginia, eight grand children and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Stewart's grandsons Charles Edward Stewart IV, Jerome Ross Stewart, Gary Mar shall Gentry, Mark Stewart Gen try, James Gorman Stewart and Courtland Alexander Stewart serv ed as pall bearers. Jessie Livingston Mrs. Jessie H. Livingston, 77, died Saturday at her home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Ephesus Bap tist Church by Rev. C.O. Canipe. Burial was in the church cemetery. Survivors are one son: Daniel Joseph Livingston of Route 2, Raeford and three grandchildren. Lottie T. Steadman Mrs. Lottie T. Steadman, 81, died Sunday morning in Moore Memorial Hospital. Funeral ser vices were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Evangelical Methodist Church by Rev. Tex Deaton. Burial was in Raeford Cemetery. Survivors are one son: Howard Steadman of Raeford, one daughter: Mrs. Walter Oaks of Greensboro, two brothers: Robert Thames of Laurinburg, James Thames of Raeford, one sister: Mrs. Lessie Davis of Raeford, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grand children and 2 great, great grand children. Arline Cook Hardy The daughter of Mrs. Jerry Jones and the late Leon Cook, departed from this life on Monday morning. May 2 at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. She was 43. She received her elementary education in North Carolina where she was baptized at Walls Chapel Church. She enjoyed attending church with her grandparents who helped provide a Christian way of living. She then journeyed to New York City where she graduated from Julia Richmond High School which sparked her interest in nurs ing. She later married Mr. Wiley Hardy at Salem Methodist Church. They made a life for themselves together in New York and from that marriage they had two children, Adrian and Derek. She enrolled in Bronx Com munity College School of Nursing, became a Registered Nurse at Co lumbia Presbyterian Medical Center. Arline's courage faith and con viction brought great comfort to her family who were with her dur ing her illness. She knew the Lord and was not afraid to tell her visitors that, "He did not bring me this far to leave me." She leaves to mourn her passing a husband, Wiley, one daughter, Adrian, one son, Derek, one son in-law, Tracey; a mother and father, Jerry and Walter Jones of Raeford; a brother, Jeffrey Jones of New York City; a mother-in law, Mary Hardy of Virginia; a niece, Diane Hardy; a god daughter, Kyshan; aunts, Con stance McEachin, Otis McQueen, Sarah McEachin, Viola McEachin; uncles, John McEachin, Lacy McEachin; and a host of loving and devoted cousins, and other relatives and friends. Nellie Rhinehardt Mrs. Nellie Bell Wilburn Rhinehardt, 94, died Monday evening in Manor Care, Pinehurst. Funeral services were to be held on Wednesday, 1 p.m. at the Holcombe Funeral Home in Union, S.C. Burial will be in Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are: three sons: J. Berry Rhinehardt of Winsboro, S.C., William A. Rhinehardt of Durham, John L. Rhinehardt, II of Charlotte, one daughter: Mrs. Harriette R. Mauney of Raeford; one brother: Mr. Norman Wilburn of Rock Hill, S.C.; three sisters; Mrs. Sanie W'. FincheT of Union, S.C., Mrs. Pearle Wilburn Gregory of Union, S.C. and Mrs. Estelle Wilburn Foster of Wilm ington, N.C.; eight grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
