After the disaster that hit North and South Carolina we can say that people in general have a heart of gold. The aid that is going into this area is coming from all over the United States. It makes one feel good to hear an announcer say that supplies are so plentiful that people should hold up until the things received in these areas can be separated. The swiftness of the Red Cross, Salva tion Army and the State Emergen cy agency is to be commended. The helping hands that have provided food for the workers should not be overlooked. The amazing thing is that so many peo ple want to help in any way that they can. They don't want recogni tion; they only want to be helpful. This is good because after the clean-up, the rebuilding will start and then more help will be needed. So just wait and your chance will come. There are many places that are receiving cash donations and if you can't find somewhere to send your money, I will be glad to tell you. ? ? ? Most everyone that has a telephone gets a call at some time and you know at once that some one has the wrong number. This happened to me Monday. A lady called and asked for Mr. Morris. I told her she was talking to him. What she said then inform ed me she had the wrong number. It seemed someone had told her that I had equipment to till gardens. Now this is one thing I can't do and since childhood haven't attempted to be a gardener. I believe you could paint my thumb green and it would change colors. Yes, she had the wrong number. ? * ? Don't forget that Monday, April 9 is the last day to register for the primary. The election office will be open until five o'clock in the after noon. If you haven't registered, please do so.
