Social Reporter, 875-4S62 Mrs. Wallace Fanandez Casey Casey - Farmer wed in Aug. 1 8 ceremony Miss Karen Vanessa Farmer and Wallace Fanandez Casey were united in marriage on August 18, at 2 p.m. The ceremony, officiated by the Reverend Joseph Smith, took place at New Bethel A.M.E. Zion church in Fayetteville. The church was decorated by Tubbs Florist. Wedding music was provided by Mrs. Alice Green (pianist) and soloist was by Curtis Stackhouse. Musical selections included "You and I" and "The Lord's Prayer. The bride, escorted by her father, wore a long gown of white lace. It had a straight neckline, and lace sleeves. Her veil, of cathedral length was trimmed with lace. She carried a nosegay of white orchids The maid of honor was Rita Hayes of Fayetteville. She wore a long gown of suede rose, styled with a ruffled waist, short sleeves. She wore pink flowers in her hair and carried a bouquet of flowers. Bridesmaids were: Vermain Edens of Raeford, Mrs. Evelyn Shaw of Hope Mills, Paula Farmer of Fayetteville. The wore gowns like the honor attendant. The best man was Eric Cohen of Harve de Grace, Maryland. Ushers were Ray Isom of Mem phis, Tennessee, Charles Perry of Fayetteville and Mark Williams of Washington, D.C. The groom, best man and ushers wore white tuxedos. Other members of the wedding party were Maggie Moore and. Master Lejae' Leonard. The reception was held in the Main NCO Club. It was hosted by Marie Graham, Mrs. Beatrice Farmer, Mary Keith and Mrs. Vernetta Farmer of Fayetteville. The bride is the daughter of Peter and Maggie Farmer of Fayet teville. She graduated from Westover Senior High School in 1981 and at tends Rutledge College. She is employed by Civilian Personnel Office at Fort Bragg. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Casey, of Harve de Grace, Maryland. He graduated from Harve de Grace Senior High School in 1981. He is employed by U.S. Army stationed at Fort Bragg. Simmons - Berry couple pledges vows in Fayetteville church Karen Denise Berry and David Glen Simmons were married Sun day, August 12 in a 3 p.m. ceremony at Victory United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. The Reverend C.R. Hollo well per formed the ceremony. Miss Berry is the daughter of Brenda C. Ross and James Har rison Berry, of Fayetteville, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Berry of Rockfish. Decorating the church were two seven branched candelabra. Daisies and greenery were placed on either side of the white kneeling bench in front of the altar. A basket filled with daisies, pink and white gladioli, miniature pink, white and lavendar carnations, statis, babies's breath and ferns adorned the altar which was centered with the unity candle. Wedding music was provided by Mrs. Melody Salvage, organist and Miss Sandy Buck soloist. Musical selections included "If" Theme From Ice Castles and "The Lord's Prayer." Tlie bride escorted by her father wore a long gown of white chiffon. It had a high neckline, empire waist, and long tapered sleeves. The bodice, neckline, sleeves were trimmed with Chantilly lace and accented with pearls at the neck and waist. The skirt ended in a cathedral-length train. The empire waist flowed into a chapel length train trimmed in Chantilly lace. The skirt was accented with rows of ruffles at the hemline. Her lat tice hat trimmed with silk flowers, chenille dot french veiling with il lusion pouf and streamers appli qued with lace. She carried a cascade bouquet of miniature white, pink and lavender carna tions, daisies, .baby's breath, statice and greenery. The matron of honor was Mrs. Cathy Sojka, the brides aunt of Fayetteville. She wore a long gown of orchid matte taffeta featuring a double ruffle off the shoulder bodice and wrap effect intermezzo length skirt, a self-fabric bow ac cented the waist. She wore a mat ching derby hat with illusdion to match the hat and carried a col onial style bouquet of miniature pink and lavender carnations, daisies, baby's breath, statice and greenery. Bridesmaids were: Mrs. Ann Marie Norris of Fayetteville, sister of the groom. Mrs. Daphne Guy of Fayetteville, Miss Missy Lanthorn of Fayetteville, Junior bridesmaid was Leslie Edgell, sister of the bride of Fayetteville. They wore gowns and hats same Mrs. David Glen Simmons as the honor attendant and carried flowers same as the honor atten dant except without the statice. The best man was Jimmy Nor ris, brother-in-law of the groom of Fayetteville. Ushers were Barry Simmons of Fayetteville, brother of the groom. Ray Faircloth of Fayetteville, brother in law of the groom. John Guy of Fayetteville, Bryan Marley, bride's cousin of Fayetteville. The groom wore an all white tuxedo with tails, white carnation boutinere tipped in lavender. The best man and ushers wore gray ascots with tails, bow ties and cumberbunds, matching atten dants dresses and white carnation boutineres. Other members of the wedding party were flower girl Barrett Sim mons, grooms daughter. Her dress and junior bridesmaid dress was white taffeta, sleeveless bodice with gathered taffeta ruffle. Hemline accented with taffeta founce waistline accented by an or chid sash to match attendants dresses. They wore baby's breath in their hair and carried white baskets of baby's breath, miniature pink and lavender carna tions, statice and greenery. Costume of the bride's mother was a gray street length dress with matching lace jacket and rose col ored accessories and a corsage of rose colored carnations. nri nrir Costume of the groom's mother was a gray suit with beige ac cessories and a corsage of white carnations. A wedding reception was held after the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. It was hosted by the bride's parents. Tables covered with white cloths. The three-tiered wedding cake was decorated with lavender roses topped with a miniature bride and groom. Punch, nuts, butter mints and finger sandwiches were also serv ed. Flower decorations used at the reception were same as used in the church. The wedding was directed by Mrs. Lina Marley, aunt of the bride. The rehearsal dinner was held on Saturday, August 1 1th at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Norris. It was hosted by the grooms family. After a wedding trip to Orlando, Florida the couple will live at 202-E Fountainhead Lane, Fayet teville. At the reception punch was poured by Mrs. Jean Currie, aunt of the bride. The wedding cake was served by Mrs. Brenda Lanthorn. Mrs. Ann Pleasants and Mrs. Wilma Sewell assisting. The bride's book was kept by Mrs. Jackie Lee. Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Albert G. Lee of Wall ingford, Conn. A floating shower given by Mrs. Lina Marley, Mrs. Daphne Guy and Mrs. Cathy Sojka was held at Pearce's Mill Fire Department on the afternoon of July 15th. A floating shower was given on July 30th at the home of Mrs. Ann Norris of Fayetteville. Hostessing with Mrs. Norris were Mrs. Joyce Faircloth and Mrs. Theresa Sim mons also of Fayetteville. A. A.
