Souder, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Raeford, to Andrew Scardina, also of San Antonio. The prospective bridegroom is the son of Andia and Gina Scardina of San Antonio. Both Miss Souder and Mr. Scardina are currently serving in the U.S. Army Reserves as dietary technicians. Wedding plans have not yet been finalized. Sallie Letitia Evans of Shannon and Christopher Douglas Currie of Red Springs were united in marriage on February 23, 2002 in an 11 a.m. ceremony officiated by the Reverend Dr. Clarence Ammons in Antioch Presbyterian Church. Musical selections were hy Martin Harris Jr. The bride, escorted by her father and her son, Thomas McKenzie Evans, wore a long gown of Dulciana satin and Italian silky satin with semi- cathedral train of Ivory and trimmed in rum pink. Her veil of rum pink was attached to a tiara and she carried a hand-tied bouquet of roses in Ivory champagne and blush. Maid of honor was Paula Waynell Evans, of Raleigh, sister of the bride. She wore a long gown of chocolate Georgette styled with a sleeveless top with bateau neckline and an A-line skirl. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of red roses, burgundy gerbers, bur gundy cosmos and green hypericum berries. Bridesmaids were Margaret Eliza beth Chamblee and Catherine Eliza beth Muse,bolhof Raleigh,and Mollie McKenzie Johnson of Shannon. Junior bridesmaid was Meridelh Nicole Marlin of Red Springs. Kelly is leaving Hoke County after spending 17 and one- half years as 4-11 agent with the N.C. Cooperative Extension Service. She is moving to Bladen County where she will work with Family Consumer Science — formerly known as Home Economics. “I’m excited but it is tearing my heart out,’’ Kelly said at a 4-H volun teer banquet held at Edinborough Restaurant last week. County Extension Di rector Cl inton McRae said “Hoke County 4-H was a model” w hen he worked in other coun ties before coming to Hoke last year. Kelly was called “a blessing” to Hoke County. La.st week's banquet was a thank you to volunteers and other supporters of 4-11 activities. Volunteers were thanked for doing everything from being camper moms to chaperoning youngsters. “Volunteers are the backbone of the 4-H program,” said 4-H Ambas sador Joshua Bowers.
