Martin Cameron-Martin rites at Raeford Presbyterian Julie Anne Cameron and Christo pher Lawrence Martin, both of Aber deen, were united in marriage in a 5 p.m. ceremony conducted in the home of the bride and groom on April 27, 2002. The Rev. Kevin Campbell, pas tor of Raeford Presbyterian Church, officiated. The bride is the daughter of Ms. Rhonda Hodge and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Cameron, all of Raeford. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Dorothy Cameron of Raeford. The bride is a graduate of Hoke County High School and Central Carolina Community College. She is employed with FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst as a nurse. The groom is the son of Mrs. Howard Martin of Aberdeen. He is a graduate of Pinecrest High School in Pinehurst and of Sandhills Commu nity College and is employed with Aberdeen Coca-Cola Co. in Aber deen. Musical selections included “Here and Now,” “Always,” and “Forever,” performed by Mike Collins. Her father escorted the bride. MaidofhonorwasJeana Whitmore of Vass, and matron of honor was Patricia McCaskill of Carthage. Bridesmaids were Tracy Ri ley and Kelly Pratz, both of Pinebluff, and Wendy Edwards of Jackson Springs. Junior bridesmaid was Emily Saunders of Carthage. Jon Scheid of Raleigh served as best man. Ushers were Bryan Thomas, Sean Tew and Dennis Grooms, all of Aber deen, Ron Steel of Southern Pines, and Jessie Whitmore of Vass. The rehearsal dinner was held in Raeford, given by the parents of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Martin. I'he wedding reception was imme diately following the ceremony in the home of the bride and groom given by the parents of the groom. After a cruise to the Caribbean, tlie couple will live in Aberdeen. Parlies On February 22 a miscellaneous bridal shower was given for the bride- elect in the home of Wendy Edwards. The hostesses were Tracy Riley and Wendy Edwards. A home and garden shower was held on March 9 in the home of Carol Martin, mother of the groom, given by Patricia McCaskill and Jeana Whitmore. April 7 a floating bridal shower was given for the bride-elect in the homeof Sharon Smith. Hostesses were Sharon Smith, aunt of the bride; and Susie Cameron, stepmother of the bride. The employees of FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital on first floor surgical gave the bride-elect a shower on April 19. A beach party was given on April 13 at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina honoring the bride-to-be. She is a graduate of Seventy-First Senior High and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is employed with Sickle Cell Disease Association of the Piedmont. The groom is the son of Gary ;ind Glyness Morrison of Statesville. He is a graduate of North Iredell High and is employed with Auto Truck Transport. Ushers were Jerrick Scott of Win ston-Salem and Jason Williams of Tayetteville. Sortori Summers was the Bower girl, and Crismoni Flowers was ring bearer. After a wedding trip to the Baha mas, the couple will live in Greens boro. Amelia Paige Averette and George Andrew Britt, who were married this weekend, were feted with parties and showers by friends. A Pampered Chef party was held on Sunday, March 24 at 2 p.m. in the home of Lisa Parham in Raeford for the bride-elect. The hostess' gift was a corsage of white daisy tart shaper, barbecue turner and all Pampered Chef points earned at the affair. Special guests were the mothers of the bridal couple, Edith Averette and Jane Britt; aunts of bride and groom; and Bonnie Averette, the bride's grandmother. Guests attending were 20. The bride-to-be was honored with a garden party shower on April 13 in the fellowship hall of the Raeford United Methodist Church hosted by Mary Lee Chalair, Doris Register, Joan Baker and Kathy Leandro. She was presented a pink rose. Gifts were a hand-painted birdhouse, birdseed, and birdfeeder. Special guests were Edith Averette and Jane IBritt, mothers of the bridal couple, and Bonnie Averette and Allie Britt, grandmothers. Thirty guests attended. A dinner party was given on April 13 in the home of Julian and Mary Neil King honoring the bridal couple. Host and hostess included Julian and Mary Neill King, Eddie and Marianne Baker and Julian and Margaret Johnson. The bride-elect was presented with a pink rose. Other gifts included a handmade blanket, pewter glass vase and a large pewter candle globe. Guestsattendingwere ISandincluded close friends of the two families. Sarah Plummer, Elizabeth Hodgin and Amanda Branch were hostesses for a stock-the-bar shower held on April 20 in the home of Elizabeth Hodgin honoring Miss Averette. She was presented a white daisy corsage, wine gift basket, martini shaker with a basket of accessories and martini glasses. Bridesmaids and special friends of the bride attended. A barbecue and miscellaneous shower was held for the bridal couple, Paige Averette and George Brilt on Saturday, April 20 in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Barnhill. 'The bride- elect was presented with a yellow daisy corsage and a 2000 scries ther mos gas grill and tank. Host and hostesses included the Barnhills, Larry and Faye Lippard, James and Sandy Potter and Ken and Gwen Booker. Special guests attend ing were the mothers of the couple, grandmothers, aunts, uncles and friends and bridal party. Attending were 40. Jodie Willis’ home was the setting of a wedding tea held on Sunday, May 5 honoring Miss Averette, and Mr. Britt. Gifts presented to Paige included brass bookends, a Pinehurst picture, lighthouse marble cheese cutting board, pitcher and matching glasses set and candles. A pink tiger lily cor sage was pinned on the bride’s dress. Hostesses were Wanda Ingram, Pat McNeill, Beckie Sutton, Jody Willis and Mary Upchurch. Among the 20 guests were the mothers of the couple. A bachelor party/honeymoon shower was held for Ihe bridal couple on Saturday, May 11 in Myrtle Beach given by Vanessa Roberts, Sarah Hummer, Elizabeth Hodgin, Amanda Branch and Amy Hawkes. Hostess’s gifts were various items for the hon eymoon including beach bags, bath ing suits, sunscreen and cameras. At tending were seven, all friend of the bride. On Sunday, May 19 the home of Spencer and Susan Adams, host and hostess, was the setting of a cookout miscellaneous shower honoring the bridal couple. Special guests were the bride’s and groom’s grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles. The couple was presented gifts of a pineapple crystal butter dish, crystal coasters, crystal salt and pepper shakers, and crystal gravy boat. 'Thirty guests attended.
