One can drive through almost any section of the county and view farm fields as far as the eye can see. The beauty of fields of white, snowy bolls of cotton; green, glistening soybean plants; or golden leaves of tobacco cannot be surpassed. Here, too, are rolling acres of Nature Conservancy land that holds longleaf pines and other native plants — all treasured and maintained to enjoy today and forever. Yet, these Sandhills of Hoke also boast communities teeming with residential growth — Hoke was the third fastest growing county in North Carolina during the last decade. In western Hoke, horse country has moved from nearby Moore County into our fair county. In eastern Hoke, rolling golf courses provide both beauty and recreation. Fort Bragg swells us with pride as we are home to not only expansive U S. Army training sites, but soldiers and their families live among us. We are host to businesses and industries whose lead ers saw the promise in Hoke and made their home here. They are listed in this publication and we urge you to keep the 2002 Business Directory for reference when you shop for goods or services. Culturally, we represent Americana, and each culture makes unique contributions to this place we call home. In Hoke you will find the friendliness of a small town. Visitors are warmly welcomed to places with the beguil ing names of Rockfish, Quewhiffle, Arabia, Antioch, Duffie and Dundarach. Some consider Hoke County one of the best kept secrets in North Carolina. Perhaps the best part of all is that this well-kept secret is located just minutes from cities and their attractions and is close to the major transportation corridors. In Hoke, we think w e have the best of all worlds. Wright(GeraklG.WrightAppraisalCo.) 910-875-5509 Street: 122 W. Edinborough Mail Address: P.O.
