The bride’s grandparents are Dor othy Cox McMillian and the late John Duncan McMillian and Mary Gatlin Senter and the late Neill Leonard Senter, all of Raeford. The bride-elect is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, where she received her law degree in May 2002. She is employed by Cranfill, Sumner & Hartzog, LLP in Charlotte. The groom-to-be is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Charles Bennington of Monroe. The groom-elect is a graduate of Campbell University and Wake For est University School of Law in May of this vear. The Rev erends William H. Gattis and Paul R. Taylor, O.S.B. officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. David C. Warren Jr. and the late Mr. Warren of Raeford. She is the grand daughter of Ruth L. Phillips and the late Warren Phillips and the late Mr. and Mrs. David C. Warren Sr. The bride is a 1993 graduate of HokeCounty High School anda 1997 graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in child development and family relations. She isemployed in Chapel Hill. The groom is the son of Mr. and M rs. George F. Drescher of Freehold, New Jersey. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brown and the late Mr. and Mrs. George C. Drescher. The groom is a graduate of Free hold Township High School and Se- ton Hall University with a degree in accounting. He earned a Juris Doctor ate from the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law. He is employed in Cary. The church was decorated with marble urns containing white moun tain lilies, freesia, bells of Ireland, Queen Anne’s lace, ginesta, and ver bena. A pillar memorial candle held on a carved stand was in memory of the bride’s father. An identical ar rangement was in the Narthex of the church. Musical selections included “Pre lude in Classical Style” by G. Young; •‘Claire de Lune’by C. Debussy; “Ode to Joy” by L. von Beethoven; “Air from Suite 111" by J. S. Warren and Michael D. Warren, wore an empire cut gown of white silk organza featur ing a scalloped neckline and bodice accented with hand-appliqueed Venice lace and pearls. Theskirtended in a chapel length train trimmed in lace and pearls. A satin covered comb held her shoulder-length illusion veil and she carried a cascade bouquet of white mountain lilies, petite English ivy and asparagus fern. Matron of honor was Nancy H. Teachey of Fayettevi 1 le, cousi n of the bride. She wore a long gown of Celedon organza styled with a fitted waist, capped sleeves and an A-line skirt. Bridesmaids were Lois S. Bomberger of Durham, Stephanie L. Hawkinsofllermitage,Tennesseeand Ixtri H. Warren of Chapel Hill. Their gowns were the same as the honor attendant's, and they carried cascade bouquets of white mountain lilies, petite English ivy and asparagus fern. The best man was Gregory P. Drescher, of Chicago, Illinois, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were David W. Batitto of Bethesda, Maryland, Michael T. Monahan of Memphis, Tennessee, Carl V. Sailer of Hillside, New Jer sey, and Michael D. Warren of Raeford. The groom wore a black tuxedo, black tie, black vest and white freesia boutonniere. The best man and groomsmen wore identical attire to that of the groom. Flower girl was Lauren E. Richards of Newtown, Pennsylvania, niece of groom. Ringbearerwas Master Hayden L. Richards of Newtown, Pennsylvania, nephew of the groom. Guest register attendant w as Lynne Pierce of Chapel flill. The wedding reception was held in the Holiday Inn-Research Triangle Park given by the bride’s mother. Reception greeters were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Register of Raeford. After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple is at home in Durham. Parties A bridal brunch was held the morn ing of the wedding for the bride and bridesmaids and out-of-town guests at Hope Valley Country Club in Durham. Hostesses included Nancy H. Teachey of Fayetteville and Dou glas W. Masten of Toccoa, Georgia, aunt of the bride. Hoke High classes of ’38 and ’39 get together 1 loke High classmates of 1938 and 1939 and guests gathered on Tuesday May 13,2003 at 1 p.m. at Gabriella’s Restaurant for their 64th and 65th get- together. The schoolhouse is still standing and is where Turlington School is now. At that time it wasonly a square building. Ruth Lytle Phillips welcomed ev eryone, and Robert Veasey gave the Invocation. Ruth Phillips gave a short memo rial .service for classmates who died since our last reunion held in 1999. They were Lawrence Meinnis, Janu ary 11, 2000; Sue Shaw Carter, Sep tember 17,2003; Carolyn McGougan Barlow, December 12,2002 and Bruce Conoly, April 3, 2003. A candle was lit in their memory and burned until the end of our get-together. While waiting for our dinner we visited and remembered days gone by. Roberson Haire made remarks at the end about how nice it was to be together. He also said it was “getting later than we think.” 1 low true that is! The tables were decorated in pink, white and red begonias. These were given as door prizes at the conclusion of the gathering. Those attending were Ruth Lytle Phillips, Nita Black Suggs with her niece, Beth Black; James and Dodie Currie, Frances McBryde Fitzsimmons; Lucille McNeill and Richard Burkhart, all from Raeford; Eliza Newell Walters Bullard from Lumber Bridge; Bennie Lee Buoyer Melvin; Bertha Edwards Stubbs with daughter Amy Talley; Robertson and Louise Haire, daughter Diane Harrell and guest Annie Washington; Marga ret Tapp Jackson, all from Fayetteville; Reid Childress from Wagram; Laverne and Elsie Mclnnis from Maxton; Bennie and Ruth Mclnnis from Raleigh; Robert and Jenny Veasey from Aberdeen; Eloise McBryde Kinlaw from St. Pauls and Carolyn McBryde Cardwell from Madison. There were 10 living in this area who were not able to attend. They were missed.
