has been discontinued or needs to be changed, you are

Thru August 17
SUMMER JAM SERIES will be held every Friday at the
old Armory Park behind the NEW Shentfs Department
Irom 6:00-9:00 p.m. with a Back-To-School Finals
August 17. There is a $5 admission fee. Entertainment
and concessions are provided.
August 1-31
SUMMER READING continues at the Hoke CouiRy
Public Library. Kids up to age 12 get prizes for the
bixrks they read throughout the months of June, July
& August, with programs plaruied for ages 0-12 on
Tuesdays through August 21. Schedule is available at
the library and online at www.sris.info.
August 1
SENIOR GAMES, card and board games for seasoned citi
zens will be offered in the Hoke County Public Library
Conference Room on the first and third Wednesday
mornings from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Admittance is
tree, and coftee and iced tea will be served. Call 875-

THE GAMES offers board games and more for ages 13-17

“ANIME BONANZA”, for kids, teens, and adults who
find Japanese animation (anime) intriguing, will be held
in the Hoke County Public Library Conferertce Room
from 3:(X)-5:00 p.m., where participants can share their
artwork aixl discuss the shows they love. Refreshments

The Ist DEPOSIT of $75,00 per person is due for the
LANCASTER SHOW TRIP & THE DUTCH COUN
TRY. The package itKudes 3 nights lodging; 6 meals;
admission to the American Music Theatre’s perfor
mance of “The 2007 Christmas Show” and admission
to “The Miracle of Christmas”, guided tour of the

tion of “THE PIED PIPER” will be held from 10:00
a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Mary Archie McNeill Auditorium.
Auditioas are open to Hoke County students in grades
1 thru 12. The play will be performed August 11 in
the Mary Archie McNeill Auditorium at 3:00 and 7:00
p.m.. This event is sponsored by the Hoke County
Board of Education and the North Carolina Arts Coun
cil and is FREE to the public.

HOKE COUNTY NATIONAL NIGHT OUT will be held
fiom 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the old National Guard Armory
(behind Hoke County’s Park & Recreation office). The
purpose of the gathering is to heighten crime and drug
prevention awareness.

OF EDUCATION will put on a community production
of The Pied Piper at 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. at Mary Archie

MENT: Rehable, dependable residents of Hoke County
to attend the 2007 Citizens Police Academy. Qasses
will begin on August 14,2007. Classes are one night a
