Complaints are increasing as industries curtail or shut down production in recent weeks. City Manager John Gaddy says relief is in sight with two new wells set to go online. North Carolina Lt. Gov. Pat Taylor will speak at the annual dinner meeting of the Raeford- Hoke Chamber of Commerce Tuesday. The event will be held in Gibson Cafeteria. The annual Lion’s Club Golf Tournament will be held at Arabia Golf Course May 15. Columnist Sam Morris repeats an article from The Chicago Firefighter: “When the fire trucks are delayed 40 seconds in traffic, people say: Tt took them 20 min utes to get here.’ When the truck races at 40 m.p.h. it’s ‘Look at those reckless fools.’... Meanwhile the FBI has an estimated 7,000 fingerprints on file of men, women and children living in Hoke County.
