Over 500 persons are homeless here tonight as a result of the three-fourths of a mil lion dollar fire that broke out at 3 o'clock this afternoon and burned fiercely till after 6, razing in that time 40 business houses, the new govern ment building, which was nearly fin ished, and 200 tenement houses.
