A jury sworn in a case iu the circuit court for Carroll county this afternoon that promises to be one of the most inter esting in some respects in the history of the court. It is a case of br'ach of promise, and is unique because probably for the first time in Mary land, in any case of the character, the plaintiff is the man and not the wjman. I. Calvin Warner sues William H Powell and Mrs. Kmma S. Powell, his wife, and avers that previous to their marriage he was engaged to be mar ried to Mrs. Powell. The contract to Uiarry Mr. Warner is not denied by the defendants, but they claim that after the engagement Mrs. Powell dis covered facts in relatiou to the plain tiff that justified her refusal to con summate the contract. The plain is a widower, about 50 years of age. He is a jus ice of the peace. Mrs. Powell is about 29 years of age and her husband about the same.
