Editor Times-Visitor: I understand certain parties have circulated the re port that I have withdrawn from the aldermanic contest in the First divi:- of the Third ward. Hood s barsapa rilla is the best blood purifier that money can buy. Seventy-Two Years Young. A Drugstore ll at has ex isted for seventy-two years is its own best testimonial The puplic finds a store out and makes or unmakes it in agreat less time than that. Owner ship has changed once, but its reputation has never chaugpd. In years, in well earned public favor, in facilities for meeting every nee J of the com munity it has served so well, this store is old; but in pro gressive methods and in stock, this store is always young. Three things you are always sure of here: Quality, accurate ser vice, and the utmost possible value for your money. W. H. King & Co.. 4 Druggists. IDLE FORTUNES. Great Anns of Money In Old Mam pa Awaiting the Finder. By II. Kluchskamm, St. Luuis, Mo, Few people know that muiir of the old stamps lying idle on letters and papers of by-gone days, in their old trunks and gar rets, are worth large sums of money. Many of the readers of this paper have locked away Somewhere old stamps that are worth from ten to a hundred dollars each, aud may bo readily turned to cash. Handsome reward has frequently met the hunter of old stamps, a case of recent occurrence being that of tlio Janitor of the Louisville (Ky . ) Court House, who received several thousand dollars for stamps found among waste paper, which had been consigned to the scran basket to be burned. The price once obtained for a single Con federate stamp was enough to keep a family in comfort for a year. This stamp was found by a lady in Jeffersonville, Ga., and was mailed from Macon, Ga., in 1861. It was purchased and then resold in St. Louis, in 1896, for a very large sum. There are un questionably still a great many of these local stamps to be found. This stamp was the " Macon, " Ga., stamp shown in illus tration and was not known to exist before this specimen was found. Others may have been used in various cities of the South during the civil war, which will bring equally as high prices. , The stamp-hnnter will quickly become fas cinated with the work, besides reapinga prof itable reward. The best way to go about it is to first ransack your old trunks, garrets and closets for the letters and papers of forty odd years ago: go amongst your neighbors and get what they have, and, if possible, get per mission to secure what you can from old letters and papers in the Court House; then send them, all together, to some reliable dealer, who will cheerfully sort them over, appraise them, and notify you of their cash value. , . Alittle trouble looking up these old stamps during the winter months would lift many a mortgage. MILLIONS GIVEN AWAY. It is certainly gratifying to the public to know of one concern in the land who are not afraid to be generous to the needy and suffering. The proprietors of Dr. King's New Discovery for Con sumption, Coughs and Colds have given away over ten million bottles of this great medicine, and have the satisfac tion of knowing that it has absolutely Conies from Or. D. B. Cargile, of Washita, L T. He writes: "Four bot les of Ele.-trlc Bitters has cured Mrs. Brewer f aocrofula, which had caused aer great suffering fr years, o Terrible ores wonll bieak out on her head and ace, and the best doctors could give no help; but her cure is complete and her . ea'tn is excellent." This snows what thousands have proved, that Sleotrio xlltters Is th best blood purifier known. If s the supreme remedy for ecsema. tetter, salt rheum, ulcers, bolls and SECOND DIVISION SECOND WARD This division must be one that the "gods" love, for it is certainly favored in having among its citizens two gentle men as well if not better, qualified than any two in any other ward in the city, to fill (hep osition of alderman, and who are willing to give to the city their best efforts. Both are now members of the board from this division. The work of John C. Drewry, the senior member, for the city is too well known in every ward to need comment at my hands. Henry W. Miller, the iunior member, has, dur ing the short while he has served the city, shown such marked ability for the position that it would be a step back wards for us not to send him back. Al though but a short time a member of the board, he obtained a sewer for his ward that has a long time been in abeyance. He has tine business quali ties as well as ability and besides is prudent The two men are so manifest ly fitted for the position that their friends are asking that we place them in that it is a matter of surprise to many that the names of any others should be mentioned for aldermen of the Second division of the Second ward. We should elect Drewry and Miller by acclama tion. CITIZEN. NO RIGHT TO UGLINESS. The woman who is lovely in face, form and temper will always have frkimis, but one who would be attrac tive must keep her health. If she is weak, sickly and all run down, she will be nervous and irritable. If she has constipation or kidney trouble, her im pure blood will cause pimples, blotches, skin eruptions and a wretched complex ion. Electric Bitters is the best medi cine in the world to regulate stomach, liver and kidneys and to purify the blood. It gives strong nerves, bright eyes, smooth, velvety skin, rich complex ion. It will make a good-looking, charm ing woman of a run-down invalid. Only 50 cents at all drug stores. FOR SALE. An elegant lady's wheel of the latest improved model for sale cheap. Enquire at No. 533 North Blount street. MR. UZZLE. Mr. Editor: I hear of no one seeking the Sanitary Inspector's place of the city, thureforpe I name Mr. J. E. Uzle, of the First ward, for inspector. He is com petent and a polite gentleman and if appointed will add strength to the city's administration. He belongs to a fam ily of moss back Democrats back to the third generation. I have never heard of an Uzzle holding any political office and if party affilia tion menus anything then Mr. Uzzle rich ly deserves the place from the board of aldermen. X. Y. Hood's Sarsaparilla never disappoints. It may be taken for impure and impov erished blood with perfect confidence that it will cure.
