This cetion of Florida has beaten all previous records on producing -melons, Never before has there been so many and so large and well flavored. The sen sou which was thought not favorable to the growth of melons, was somewhat deceiving, as the result shows. It could not have been better. More melons have been grown in the State this sea son than can be either shipped or con sumed. Many train loads have be.'?! carried out and sold at small profit, and today the largest and finest of melons, fresh from the farms, are sold here at retail, at from 5 to ID cents each. Farm-cr-His in this vicinity report thousands still in the field, and of the best varieties, but as the markets are glutted few will bother to gather and ship any more. It is stated as a fact by physicians and others here that there are a number of families, mostly colored, who subsist al most entirely on melons, very little of the ordinary food being eaten. Some of the poor people contend that the cheapness of melons enables them to live better than usual. It is said a good melon will hurt no one, but it is the opinion of many that to subsist entirely upon them will cause sickness chills and fever. - Jacksonville Metrojiolis. THAT THROBBING HEADACHE.
