SELLERS Funeral services were conduct ed Friday afternoon at •'! o'clock .f i o in Shady Grove Baptist Church, for I). C. Sellers, 57, prominent farmer of the Shady Grade Community, who died Thutsday morning following an illness of several months. Services ' weie in charge of his pastor, Rev J. \V. Costner, assisted by Rev. | \V. (J. Camp, of Mooresboro, a former pastor, Rev'. Leslie Book out, of Gastonia had charge of the song service Active pallbearers were neph ews: Walter Sellers. Chapman Sellers, Earl Sellers, .1. C Sellers, Lewis Sellers and Lonnie Pruette. Flower girls were nieces of the family on both sides. Burial was made in the church cemetery under a mound of lov ely flowers. Air. Sellers was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Sellers, lie was born April 15, 1881! and has spent his entire life in the Shady Grove community, and was an outstanding man o‘f the commu nity. In early manhood he united with the Shady Glove Baptist church and was a faithful and loyal member. Surviving is his wife, who be fore marriage was Miss Margaret Malissie Wright. A daughter died in infancy. Also surviving are three brothers, C. C. Sellers. W. F. Sellers, and Ben Ray Sellers ail of the Shady Grove commu nity. Two sisters and one brother preceded him to the gravye. His wife has been confined to her bed for the past three years. rrc. C., has been assigned here to be j trained as a radio operator I mechanic in the new Air Force j Technical school now operating in the buildings formerly occu pied by the Stevens and Congress hotels and Chicago's historic Coli seum. Then new radio school is ne of the Army Air Forces. Technical Training command’s i » hicago schools under the com mand of Col. John P Temple. When he completes his training here, Pfc. Crocker may be assign ed to the communications section of an Air Forces ground unit in a combat zone, or, after further trai ling as an aerial gunner, will take his place as radio operator in a bomber crew. R. Duncan were conducted from the Cherryville Baptist church Wed nesday afternoon at 4 o’clock. Services were in charge of the pastor, ReV. K. S. Elliott. The choir sang: "Asleep In Je sus" and “What A Friend We Have In Jesus.’' A solo: "Does Jesus Care'’ by Mrs. George S Falls. Active pall bearers were:-Mick Thornburg, Glenn Duncan, J. R. Hester, Earl Duncan, A. M. Ward and Paul Almand. Flowers were in charge of Mrs Victor Stroupc with the members i of the Howell Woman’s Club as flower bearers. I Mrs. Duncan died Monday evening about t>:45 o'clock foll owing a two weeks illness. She was born April 22. 1877 and was tib years, 11 months and 28 days of age. Before her marriage to , F. 11. Duncan on October 29, 189:1. she was Miss Ida Hoover.
