PFC Richard Leonard returned to Camp Aijulon after spending a furlough here with his rela tives and friends. Mrs. Leonard leturned with her husband. Mrs. Hugh Helms had her ton sils removed at the Reeves Hos pital in Lincolnton Wednesday and returned home today conva lescing satisfactorily. Mrs. Janies Thomson and little son. Mrs. Hollis Faker is a patient at the Reeves Gamble Hospital, where she is recovering' from an operation. She is expecting to be able to return home the first, of next week. Frank Campbell, formerly op erator of the Lester Theatre and more recently connected with the theatres in Lancaster, South Carolina has been inducted into the service and is stationed at Fort Jackson. 8. HEAFNER-H1LL CAKE CUTTING Mr. and Mrs. F. V. Maimoy of Charlotte entertained at a cake cutting Friday evening at 8 :•'!() o'clock at their home on Fast 5th street in honor of Mrs. Mauney’s sister, Miss Margaret Meafner, and Sgt. Paul James Hill, whose marriage took place at Daniel Field in Augusta, Ga., on Satur day. Miss Heafner is the daugh ter of Mrs. James Monroe Heaf ner of Ci'ouse and Sgt. Hill is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hill of Clayton. The table in the dining room was covered with a lace cloth and centered with silver cande labra holding white tapers. The three-tiered wedding cake topped by a bride and soldier bride groom and banked with white rose buds and lace fern graced one end of the table and at the other end was a silver cof fee service. Bridal ices coffee and acces sories were served. Mrs. Jamef M. Heafner poured coffee and Mrs. Everette Dillingham assisted in serving. Mrs. Woodrow Blan ton cut the cake. About thirty five guests attended. REYNOLDS DELLINGER ANNOUNCEMENT Announcement has been made of the mariiage of Miss Edna Ruth Reynolds of Cherryville ami J. Z. Dellinger, J'r., of Bain bridge. Maryland. The bride wore an attractive costume of black and tah crepe with black accessories. She is th< youngest daughter of Mr. Rerl Reynolds and the late Mrs. Rey nolds of Lin-colnton. She received her education at the Cherryville High Schools and at present if employed at the Carlton Mills. The groom is the son of Mr. Zeno Dellinger and the late Mrs. Dellinger of I.incolnton. He join ed the Navy in September and has just completed his boot train ing at Bainbridge, Md. The bride will make her home at the present with her grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Steven Tiffany presented | a program of nuptial music prior to the ceremony, and played the ' traditional wedding marches for the processional and recessional. The chapel was arranged with mixed white flowers and candel abra holding white tapers. The bride wore a dress of ail patrol blue wool with brown ac cessories and a shoulder bouquet of white orchids. The bride is the attractive daughter of Mrs. James Monroe Heafner of Crouse and is a grad uate of the Lineolnton High School and the Hollingsworth Business School in Charlotte. ■She will make her home in Crouse for the present. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. ,t. H. Hill of Clay ton. Prior to his entering the armed forces he was with the Homesley Chevrolet Company here. He is now stationed at Daniel Field in Augusta. Young Woman’s Class Meets The Young Woman’s Sunday School Class of iSt. John’s Lu theran Church held its regular monthly meeting Monday even ing at 7:30 at the home of Mrs. Fred K. Houser with Mrs. Hou ser and Mrs. Howard Vf. Allran as joint hostesses. Mrs. C. A. Rudisill. president presided. The devotionals were conducted by Mrs. Houser. The roll called, dues collected and minutes of last meeting read and approved. Ribbon sandwiches, cookies and cake individually iced in white and decorated with ping rosebuds were served. About twenty five guests were invited to call.
