E. V. MOSS, Mayor And Candidate For CONGRESS Makes Report on Financial Condition Of Cher ryville. Cash Posi tion of Town Increased $110,000.00 tv. MOSS, Candidate For CONGRESS In a democracy the people have a right to know how their government is being managed. Since I have been Mayor of Cherryville; the past three and a half years, vour finances and city properties have been well taken care of. The bonded debt of our town three and a half years ago was $391,000.00. This debt has been reduced by maturing bonds and bonds purchased in amount of $60,000.00. Your city funds have been in vested in United States Government bonds in the aggre gate amount of $45,000.00. The treasury of your town has $5,000 00 more in cash than was on hand three and one half years ago. By this report you can readily see that the cash position of your town has reflected an in crease for this period in amount of $110,000.00. This achievement has been accomplished without Federal grants or assistance from Federal Bureaus. Your streets have been improved and your water and light plant has been built up to a high standard of efficiency. These are the men who have co-operated for good as custodians of your city properties and city finances2 E. V. MOSS, Mayor; COMMISSIONERS2 J. W. BLACKWELDER, TROY HOMESLEY, S. STROUP, GEO. S.
