Mrs. Kverett Foster had her tonsils removed at the Gaston Memorial Hospitaj in Gastonia Tuesday morning and returned home today, getting along nicely. METHODIST CLASS ON PICNIC OUTING The Young Adult Class of the First Methodist Church, taught by S'upt. F. L. Mrs. Ford Honored On Birthday Mrs. Pete Howell gave a birth day dinner Sunday, June 13th, in honor of her mother, Mrs. Vernon Ford, who was celebrating her birthday anniversary. The table was covered with a green and pink linen cloth and center with a decorated birthday cake. MRS. W. C. HOWELL SMITH -WALKER NUPITIALS HELD SUNDAY AT SALISBURY Salisbury—Miss Dorothy Ader holdt Walker, daughter of the Reverend and Mrs. James Ernest Walker, became the bride of Mar u. Carroll Smith, son of Mrs. Cleveland Theodore Smith and the late Mr. Smith of Hudson, in a live o'cdoek ceremony on Sunday afternoon in Grace Lutheran of the bride, officiated, using the double ring ceremony. Music was furnished by Mrs. Allan W. Lax ton, organist, and Mrs. .John Mc | Knight, vocalist. The bride, given in marriage by her uncle, John W. Aderholdt of Charlotte, wore a gown made with a yoke of illusion, long-sleeved Chantilly lace bodice embroidered with tiny seed pearls and bouffant skirt of slipper satin, falling into a full cathedral train. Her double tiered fingertip veil of silk illusion fell from a seed pearl tiara, tier only ornament was a single strand ot pearls. She carried a white purp'e-throated orchid on a white prayer book, Miss Martha Walker, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She '"'ore a long gown of pink and blue net over pink taffeta. She carried a nosegay of pink roses. Brides maids includes Mrs. Everette Lineberger of Rock Hill, S. t\, college roommate of the bride, Miss Gail Colvard of New Bern, niece of the bridegroom, Mrs. Joe Shumate of Salisbury, Miss Kay Bradley of Arlington, Va., Miss Ann Aderholdt of Henry River, and Miss Nanette Aderholdt of Henry River, cousins of the bride. Guests were invited to the home of the bride. I For traveling, the bride changed | to a navy dress of silk and broad cloth with matching bolero. Her | accessories were navy and white. She wore the orchid corsage taken from her prayer book. Mrs. Smith is a graduate of Le Inoir Rhyne college and has been teaching in the Kannapolis City schools for the past year. Mr. Smith, also a graduate off Lenoir Rhyne college, is a teacher in the Lenoir City school system. After a wedding trip, the couple will he at home at 207 West Har per Avenue, Lenoir. Rehearsal Party Given In Honor Of Bridal Couple After the rehearsal Saturday evening: for the wedding- of Miss Dorothy Aderholdt Walker and Marcus Caro! Smith, a lovely cake cutting was given for the bridal party and friends at the home of the parents of the bride-elect, Rev. and Mis. James E. Walker near Salisbury. The group entertaining was composed of Mrs. John W. Ader holdt of Charlotte, Mrs. Miles’ D. Aderholdt;, Mrs. Hal M. Aderholdt 01 Henry River, Miss Louise Aderholdt of Hickory, Mrs. Wert R. Rhyne of Cherryville and Mrs. McKay Bradley of Arlington, Virginia. The Walker home was decorated with summer flowers, inclusive of white gladious, lilies and snap dragons. Mrs, Miles I). Aderholdt greeted the guests at the door, Mrs. Hal' M. Aderholdt received in the living room and invited the guests into the dining room, where a color scheme of blue and pink prevailed. The table was covered with a handsome lace banquet cloth, which was center ed by a four-tiered cake of un usual beauty. A charming nose gay of pink rosebuds and blue forget-me-nots made entirely of frosting adorned the top tier of the cake. The delicate blue frost ing of the cake was surmounted by roses ir. net. covered the large base upon which the cake was placed. .Additional decorations of bridal type added to the beauty of this part of the setting. Included were glowing pink tapers in sil ver candlelabra, and silver plates of blue mints in shapes of wed ding symbols decorated in tiny rosebuds, of pink frosting. Silver compotes held salted nuts, and the bridal napkins were pale blue with wedding design in silver. On the side serving table was the punch bowl. After the bridal couple cut the first slice of cake, Mrs. Wert B. Rhyne, aunt of the bride-elect, served cake for the other guests. Mrs. John W. Ader holdt presided over the serving in the dining room, where several cousins of the bride assisted in serving. Seventy-five guests were present. (lifts were presented to members of the wedding party. Miss Walker and Mr. Smith were married Sunday afternoon, ■line l'lth al Orace Lutheran Church near Salisbury. Mr. Smith is a son off Mrs. T.
