Tenn. Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Howell re turned home Saturday night from Fontana Dam where they spent a two weeks vacation. While on vacation, Mrs. Howell reeled in a six-pound big mouth bass, measuring 23 inches long and Mr. Howell brought in a 21 inch bass weighing ."> pounds. Pvt. Elmer R. Bass spent Friday in Monroe. They attend ed the funeral of Mrs. Gene Ste wart at the McEwen Funeral Home. Mrs. Stewart passed away July 7 in Watts Hospital in Durham. She was a sister of Mr. Bass. The Rev. Waldo K. Mul len, pastor of the Second Baptist Church of Cherrvville performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Towery of Vale. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Woolley of Lin colnton. Route 3. Both the bride and groom are employed at the Rudisill Spinning Company of Lincolnton. They are making their home near the bride’s parents at Vale. Jewel Banks Circle Met Monday Night The Jewel Banks Circle of the First Presbyterian. Church met Monday night at 7:30 at the home of Mrs. Finest Stroup with Mrs. Stroup and Mi's. Clyde Gainey as j joint hostesses. Miss Elisabeth Ann Houser taught the Bible Study, Acts loth and 14th chapters. The topic for the Bible Study was "Beginning of World Missions". Mrs. K. S. Sellers, chairman, gave the monthly topic on •‘Cour ageous Citizenship”, followed by sentence prayers. A short business session was held at which time it was decided to purchase a wheel chair. There were 10 mem bers present. They were Mesdames Wayburn Flowers, Virginia Tate, Evelyn Shives, Bonnie Mae Sig man, Melle Blaekwelder, Lib Blaekwelder, and Misses Frances Carroll and Elsie Sijnnon. Two new members, Mr.s Hazel Craig and Mrs. Sara Jane Sigmon were added. The meeting was opened with i. raver led by Mrs. Wayburn Flowers. At. this time the business of the circle was discussed and the minutes of the last meeting lead and roll called. The Bible Study of the Jeru salem Council and of Paul’s and Barnabas’ missionary journeys in Syria and Cyprus was interesting ly presented by Mrs. Flowers. Blue Stocking Book Club Meets Mrs. Floyd Dellinger was hos tess to the Blue Stocking Book Club at her home Tuesday night at X o’clock. l/pon arrival the guests were served a delicious dessert course. Mrs. John P Wilson and Miss Marie Huss gave the program. Mrs. Wilson talked on Famous Hotels and Resorts in Western North Carolina and Miss Huss talked on the same subject in Eastern North Carolina.
