Fuel Users To
Get No More
Than Last Year
County fuel oil users will not
be able to get any more fuel
oil during the coming winter
than they did last year in view of
expected scarcity of fuel oil
later in the year, the chief clerk
of the local rationing board said
here today.
To plan for rationing of fuel
oil, representatives of the War
'Price and Rationing Board re
cently met with district OPA of
ficials and completed plans for
the new heating year.
“Uppermost in importance
right now,” the chief clerk said,
“is the filling of fuel oil tanks
by users as soon as possible. Ap
plication blanks for the 1944-45
heating year should be returned
to the local War Price and Ra
tioning Board as soon as possi
ble so that the fuel oil coupons
may be issued and the fuel oil
purchased and stored in the
tanks during the summer.”
“Transportation facilities are
expected to be so heavily taxed
this fall that fuel oil may be
come very scarce in this section.
The filling of fuel oil tanks to
capacity this summer will help
the situation in the fall and win
ter,” it was said.
